How do we get a refund for a faulty car?

We recently bought a 2012 Ford Galaxy. We have driven it four times and had an engine malfunction warning come up three times. We have only had the car a month, but it has spent the last two weeks at the garage.

My husband became concerned and contacted the previous owner who said that the car had done this from new. Obviously the car is covered by warranty, but we don’t feel confident with it anymore. What can we do?

If you bought it from a dealer, reject it for a full cash refund. You have the evidence from the previous owner that the car has been faulty from day 1. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
