Which SUV to replace my Toyota RAV4?

I would appreciate your advice on what would be a good replacement for my 8-year old RAV4, which has been excellent. Should I look at the latest RAV4 or what others should I consider? I am looking to replace with new.

If you want that type of car, a Toyota RAV-4 2.0i Valvematic Multidrive S is quite efficient. That has a reliable CVT automatic transmission. But the RAV is getting a bit long in the tooth for a Japanese SUV and might be up for replacement soon. The Honda CR-V is a younger design and will be renewed next year, as will the Ford Kuga. Another possibility is the ultra efficient new Mazda CX5, arriving early in 2012: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/mazda/cx-5-2012
