What are your thoughts on the Peugeot 207?

Last month I bought from an independent dealer a 2006 Peugeot 207 THP 150 3-door with 23,750 miles, full service history, one owner, for just under £4800, excluding the cost of warranty, for which I paid extra. It's a great car, and this seemed a good deal to me. I believe you have driven this model, and would appreciate your comments, on both the price paid and the car itself.

That's cheap. Yes, I had one for six months. I actually got the same car I originally road tested. It’s a bit low geared at about 20mph per 1000rpm in fifth and desperately needs the six-speed box of the Citroen DS3 and Mini Cooper. But, though the tensioner can rattle a bit, the engine is chain cam, so no belt to worry about. It’s quite close to the original Peugeot 205GTI 1.6. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests for three reports.
