Hyundai ix35 Satnav road speed indication missing - can you help?

Last May the media unit on my Premium ix35 was 'upgraded', after which the the road speed indication disappeared, a feature I found very useful.

It now appears intermittently, mainly on motorways (very useful). Despite two further 'upgrades', and the replacement of the screen device, I still have the problem. Navteq tell me it is not a map database issue, Hyundai UK have been less than helpful and have been giving me, and I suspect the dealer, the runaround. Do you have any ideas? (I am aware that it needs to be selected in the menu)
