Buying a car for winter

My husband is looking to replace our current S-Max with a car that will cope with snow and ice. He is looking at the Land Rover Discovery. We don't necessarily need 7 seats any more. Is there anything else that would do the job?

Yes, the S-Max on a set of winter tyres will be more effective than the Discovery on standard tyres. However, a Discovery on winter tyres will be more effective still. What I would do is put the S-Max on winter tyres.
