Why did Apcoa Parking reject my claim for damage after my car was dented in their car park?

On 5 February, I left my car for one week at Apcoa Parking, Gatwick Airport. On return, I found that the offside indicator light and wing had been knocked, leaving a dent and no light cover. I immediately reported the incident, to be followed up by an estimate for damage repair for £400 or so, which I sent to Apcoa. Apcoa has rejected my claim.

That is a standard term and condition of airport car parking. Unless you could prove negligence by the carpark operator, I don't think you have a case. I confirmed this with our legal advisors.
