What is your opinion of the Lexus GS 450h hybrid?

There are some 2-year-old, low mileage, Lexus GS 450h 3.5 SE Saloons available within my max price of £22,500. I don't do big mileage (7,500 miles pa) but I do like a bit of stylish metal around me, and acceleration when it is needed. The fuel economy is also a consideration, since you don't recommend a diesel car for my kind of mileage. Given my requirements as described, what are your general thoughts on the car itself, and my needs in particular?

I like them. They have the ambiance and quietness of a 1980s Jaguar XJ but only a small boot for the size of car, because of the battery pack between the rear wheel arches. The alloy wheels are prone to corrosion from road salt. Some readers report poor motorway economy, and there have been expensive post-warranty failures of the hybrid drive system (www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/lexus/gs450h-2005/)
