How much is the car tax on my EV?

I am trying to clarify the VED cost for a Skoda Enyaq Sportline. The base original list price for used 25/26 models is below the £50k threshold, yet online VED cost checkers are all coming up with the add high value VED cost for a number of registrations entered- this seemed to be the case using the government one as well.

The VED rate for a used Skoda Enyaq will depend on both its list price including options and the date of its first registration as VED rates changed in April 2025. If a particular example for sale was registered before April 1st 2025 then it does not attract the Expensive Car Supplement regardless of its list price including options, but if it is registered after this date then it will attract the ECS if its list price including options exceeds £50,000, which means an annual rate of £640 for the first five years, subject to future changes in the rate in coming years. Some owners have experienced a similar issue and the suggestion is that the DVLA's systems cannot differentiate between electric and ICE vehicles when it comes to the ECS, which may explain why the online checker is providing incorrect information.
