Is a Range Rover a reliable buy?

Can you tell me which Range Rover (the large one) is likely to be the most reliable please? I’m currently looking at 2018 to 2020 Petrol, diesel, or hybrid models. Would I be better buying something else?

Thanks for your question. It's difficult to give a conclusive answer on this, but the 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 is likely to be the most reliable of the lot, although the fuel consumption will be painful. As far as the diesels go, the V6 has a fair few known failure points, with the TDV8 looking like the better bet for longevity, but there might not be much in it.

Land Rover as a company doesn't exactly have the best reliability record, of course. If you are interested in an alternative that should prove more reliable, a Porsche Cayenne could be worth considering.
