I was offered a courtesy car following an accident - should I have refused?

After I was hit in the back of my car recently, my insurance company passed my claim to Auxillus. The claim was dealt with as a no-fault claim on my part as the other driver accepted liability straight away. They offered me a courtesy car, which was included in my policy, took £60 insurance cover for the car but are now asking me for bank statements to see if I would have been able to afford a replacement hire care myself? I was not informed in advance that this may be the case otherwise I would have stuck to my guns and refused the offer of the car in the first place. What can I do?

This is a standard request made by credit hire providers to assess financial needs in line with the claim. This does not affect your no-fault status or your entitlement to a courtesy car if this was outlined in your policy. If you would prefer a more thorough reasoning, you could contact Auxillis to discuss further.
