I received six points for driving with no insurance - will anywhere insure me now?
Upon receipt of my AA recovery renewal and it being exorbitant, I cancelled it and inadvertently cancelled my insurance with them at the same time. I then happened to be stopped by the police doing routine checks and they told me I had no insurance. I didn't believe them but they were correct. I now need to find normal insurance but I now have 6 points and a £300 fine. Where can I get insurance?

It’s understandable that this situation is distressing, but having adequate insurance cover is a legal requirement. But this doesn’t mean you can’t get insurance in the future. You should seek cover through insurance specialising in non-standard or convicted driver policies. Running a quote on a comparison site like Confused.com would provide you with all of your options, and save you the time and hassle of seeking out individual insurers who would cover you in this instance. However, it’s important that you disclose the full details of the penalty to ensure you have the right cover and aren’t at risk of your policy being voided.
