Groaning dashboard

I've recently noticed what I can only describe as a groaning noise, like a screen wash pump on it's last legs, coming from behind the dash of my Passat every time I turn the engine off.

It lasts for about 5 seconds and then everything is fine. To be honest it's bearable and doesn't sound like anything sinister but I'm planning to sell the motor in a month or two and don't fancy trying to explain what it is to a prospective buyer.

The car is just out of warranty otherwise I'd ask VW to have a look.

Any ideas?
