Can I challenge my write-off valuation?

If one is involved in a no-fault crash, where the car is written off and where the insurance company offer a cash amount that is well below the value of the vehicle, does one have to take the cash offer or can they insist on buying the same make and model car from a reputable car dealer?

You can challenge the amount offered to you by the insurance company by providing examples of similar cars for sale or pay for an independent mechanic's report, but you may need to balance the cost of this against how much you think the car is undervalued by. Insurers generally do not offer to replace the vehicle.
