What's the most reliable sat nav?

I'm looking for a reliable sat nav. I have previously owned a TomTom and a Garmin but recently, the Garmin seems to have taken on a life of it's own and sends me on completely random roads in the wrong direction. I only drive in the UK so can you suggest something reliable please?

Plug-in sat navs systems have declined in popularity in recent years because an increasing number of new cars have the feature as standard equipment, plus the rise of smartphone integration means many drivers use their native systems.

Depending on the age of your current sat nav, it may be performing more poorly as it requires an update, so it is worth updating the system software or even a complete reset before purchasing a new one.

You can read our in-depth guide to sat navs here: kit.honestjohn.co.uk/sat-nav-buying-advice-guide/ but as a free option Google Maps performs pretty well, offers live traffic data and speed camera warnings.
