Car declared a total loss, can I get a refund on my insurance premium?
            
            
                My car insurer recently cancelled my insurance after declaring a claim I made was uneconomical to repair, resulting in a total loss. I have emailed them asking for a refund on my insurance. I purchased my insurance at the beginning of March 2022 and they cancelled it on 20 June 2022 leaving 8 months I paid for and not using. I have had no reply, as yet. I have sent a second email asking for a response. Will you let me know, if, under these circumstances, I am entitled to a refund?

                        Sadly, you are not entitled to a refund. Depending on the type of policy you have, it will be transferable to another vehicle or the insurer will consider the contract fulfilled and cancel it after the claim.
