Pumper cards

In British Columbia, the provincial government has passed what is called Grant's Law. A few years ago Grant DePatie was employed at a gas station and tried to stop a "gas & dash". He was trapped under the car and driven several kilometres, causing his death. All gas pumps in the province now require people to pay at the pump with a credit card or prepay with cash before you pump. It's a tad inconvenient at the start if you are using cash but it totally solves the issue. Paying with a credit card is more convenient as you never have to leave your car and the pump area.

Yes, the UK is introducing pay by card pumps. However, there is a problem at unmanned pay by card pumps in France. They won't take British cards. Quite a lot of Brits have been stuck all night gasless for this stupid reason.
