Making the best of things

I recently had to stop at a motorway service station for petrol and found they only sold Total, a brand I was not familiar with. I use ordinary unleaded so looked for this. The unleaded pumps were marked 'Total Premium' and 'Total Excellium'. I couldn't see any other indications as to which was the ordinary unleaded and which was the higher octane unleaded, so had to make a guess. Couldn't be a bit more standard in their names for the different grades of petrol?

Excellium is 97Ron, so that, and the price should have told you. 'Premium Unleaded' is the slightly daft, but standard industry hyperbole for ordinary 95Ron unleaded. Logically, if there is nothing worse, it is misrepresentation to call a product 'premium'.
