Crunch credit

Earlier this week a BT van ran into the back of my two year old BMW 525. I immediately contacted Footman James my brokers who then handed the matter over to Helphire. They have sent me hiring agreements, credit agreements and other bits of associated paperwork showing a daily hire rate of between £335 and £280 depending on how long the hire lasts. I have also received a letter from BT admitting full liability offering to repair my car, provide a temporary replacement, with no forms to complete. My instinct is to accept the BT offer but I would appreciate your advice?

Accept the BT offer. Do not sign the other forms that commit you to paying the hire charges if the hirer is unable to recover them. The maximum fixed amount an insurer will pay for the daily hire of an equivalent car to a BMW 525 is £155.25. You will be liable for any more than that.
