What is the best small car for an elderly lady? It needs to be secondhand, low mileage, reliable, petrol, automatic and good size boot.

A Kia Picanto is a sensible choice but I'm not sure its boot will be big enough for your needs. A Honda Jazz is bigger, very versatile and will be a very reliable choice. The CVT automatic gearbox is very good but avoid the i-Shift automated manual used between 2008 and early 2011.
