Which small Automatic SUV should I buy for £10,000?

I have a budget of £10,000 to buy a very reliable, small automatic SUV which will be used for about 40 miles daily commute. This will be mainly for commuting to work and dropping off the kids in school. What do you recommend?

Your budget will get you a circa 2009 Toyota RAV4 with a 150PS petrol engine and an automatic gearbox. Very reliable cars, don't feel as bulky to drive as other SUVs and have loads of room inside. Find out more in our review: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/toyota/rav4-2006/

I'm after a decent 4x4 SUV for less than £4000. I've read a few reviews and it appears the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are the best options. What do you think?
I am thinking of buying a 2008 Toyota RAV4 with the 2.2 D-CAT engine. I've found a manual version with 113,000 miles on the clock with a full service history. How is this car and engine?
We currently own a Toyota RAV4 and Audi A4. We need to sell both and get a family sized car, which has occasional 4x4 ability (prefer two-wheel drive which switches to 4x4 if needed). We'd like a diesel...
