  Have a max of £25k to spend on a new car for the Mrs. Considering used prices new seems the way to go and we can wait 6 months for the car. Needs to be easy to park and an auto. Yaris is the favourite but the PEV 3 cylinder engine is very much unproven based on research.

  my peagout after driving for 10 mins the temp gauge goes to max then the red stop light comes on so i stop the car turn off then back on again its fine . ive had new water pump, new thermostat and housing ,new radiator,ive tried 3 new sensorscan anybody help before i scrap it ive had 2 mechanic's look at it but no luck any help would be appreciated

  Tried bleeding the reservoir with the bleed screw to no avail. The level is above the joint but not quite up to the max. Could this trigger the brake alert if there is a sensor in the top of the reservoir and is it possible to remove the filter?

  Hi, My Peugeot just failed it's MOT Smoke Test, the reading was 2.07m-1, and I think the max limit it 1.5m-1. KwikFit advised that an oil and filter change, with some additived should resolve. Are they being honest? I last changed the oil and all filters approx 2 years ago, would an oil/filter change actually improve the smoke?

  Hi guys, im after a family car doing about 15k a year, max 7k budget. I probably would replace after 1/2 years.  I narrowed down to mondeo 2.0 tdi, octavia 1.4 tsi(maybe dsg), i40 diesel and at a push passat. Which would serve best reliabilty and resale value.

  I have a budget 10k but ideal would be 7/8k. It has to be automatic and im doing about 20k mileage most is motorway. Economy is important. Max 70k mileage and 2012 oldest. Options i looked at was hyundai i40, mondeo. (Don't want the expensive brands)Also if I went to 11k budget is a 15 plate passat worth it over a 7/8k car.    any more suggestions/advice would be helpful    Thanks

  All well and good, the potential problem will be just how reliable and durable will it be. Mini SIM cards are not very robust, typically only reliable for a max of about 3 months continuous recording, after which there is likely to be gaps in the recorded journey. This is from personal experience. Anyone who has a dash cam should check the recordings regularly, just seeing the screen is not good enough.

  I had a back operation last year and still suffer from lower back pain and pains in the backs of the thighs when sitting. I currently drive a C-Max automatic which is OK-ish but am keen to buy something with very comfortable, ideally electric, seats. I am not too concerned with consumption as I drive relatively low miles, nor really with size.

  It seems an incredible increase for a car that is worth maybe 2 - 2.5 times more. Both prices were/are with max NCB protected. Time to shop around after 5 years with the same company.

  Thinking long term, is it bad for the ac system to run it on maximum cold and max fan speed (manual controls) or is it a good thing? I know it's bad NOT to run the AC system as seals can dry out, but just curious about the effects of doing the opposite. Like everyone here, want to maintain my car and avoid future bills where possible/expand my knowledge.

    Not many of them display the C.C.A. they may posess instead they show starting Amps and max. Power Amps . Anyone got rough idea or reccomenfation for which ones WILL start a dead battery up for a diesel engine 2.2 litre, thanks , Brian.

  I am looking for a small car to fit in back of American RV,heigth/width no problem, BUT have max length of 10'3"(3120mm). Smart car fits, but would like 4 seats(2+2). Not fussed on make or model, I suppose pertrol, as have facility to top up from RV.                                             possibly new, second hand maybe can even be left hand drive.

  My wife's A3 has Dunlop Sport tyres on the front axle marked AO (Audi Only). The rear tyres now need replacing and we have been offered Dunlop Sport Max. The dimensions, speed rating and loadings are the same, the only difference is the tread pattern. Also, should the tyres be rotated front to back? Many thanks in anticipation

  been on holiday for 3 weeks returned to start car, started fine but all needles on speedo and rev counter went over to max  ,presume computer resetting as trip computer went back to zero also. problem is now every time i start the car the boot release opens the boot resulting in me having to get out and close the boot , strange ,any ideas welcome.

  our engine temperature gauge is rising to the max and then the stop light comes on for a few minutes then temperature comes back down without stopping the car.  only happened since the extreme cold weather.  we do have anti-freeze in the car so not sure whats going on.

  Enough  to form a small pool of water. The radiator header/expansion tank is not overfilled and is near to but below the Max. mark. I have not had to top it up so It can`t be losing much water. Do I need to do anything about this?
