  The first time I checked my coolant it was low so topped it up. When it came on again I checked and the level in the water header tank was on the max level. I topped it up some more and it cleared it for another 2 days then the warning light came on again. I top it up above the max and each time and it clears the warning light. The tank is pressurised and I can't find any sign of a leak.

  Sorry to lapse into Max Power speak but the result of my earlier thread entitled VW Golf Hassles is not a blown head gasket but a broken oil cooler. Mr Moorey of Tune Up Ltd. was the only one to suggest such a possibility and therefore deserves a round of applause

    The CO2 levels were slightly high (I think 15.7 with 16 being max permitted) but it was registering 0 on CO at idle and only 0.03 at 2500 revs which is much lower than expected. He thought it might running lean and suggested I check the coolant temp sensor to see if it was covered in sludge or faulty.

   The closest I've got to actually making it selection was the Volvo XC60 inscription pro, but I'm struggling to find the car for my budget.  I have test driven BMWs Audis Volvo Mazda Ford so far – all good cars, but didn’t get on with the Ford/Mazda because of my height.  I do find myself struggling between choosing between a lease (because I know it's only going to be for three years), a nearly new, or older ‘better built’ car.
