Ford Focus Estate - Car pulls to left and right 26 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Just had o/s track rod arm replaced (as couldn't adjust tracking due to seizure), together with front bushes and new shocks, as car was eating front tyres (on insides) even though tracking was only slighly out. -
Ford Mondeo - Speedometer drops to Zero - once on every journey. 11 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I have a Y reg. MK2 Mondeo Zetec-S. My speedo drops to zero after about 4 miles of driving, it then resumes normal operation after about another mile. The mileometer also stops, the car loses a little bit of power, and the volume of the radio suddenly drops. -
Ford Fiesta - Fiesta - engine temperature guage fluctuating 7 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Hello, Recently the temperature guage on my 1.6Zetec S Fiesta (51 plate) has fluctuated quite a lot. For example on a normal 20minute drive the guage would start normal, then go into the red, then back to the middle, then higher, then lower etc. Yesterday when I returned home the guage was in the red, and the coolant reservoir was making what can be described as a gargling sound. -
Volvo S40 (2004 - ) - Volvo S40 - real life experiences? 17 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Are the seats comfortable for long journeys and has anyone got a realistic MPG for the 1.6 petrol? I had one as a courtesy car for 3 days and was impressed, the spec seemed good even for the 1.6 S variant and the prices seem to be around Ford Focus level as well ( I know the S40 is based on the Focus chassis so the handling is pretty good) -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - Cam belt Change costs 4 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I had the cambelt changed on my 1997 1.25 16v Zetec engined Fiesta by a small local French garage, billed for 2.5 hrs labour (total 110?). Has anybody got the book time? I thought that the book time was 3.5 hrs (with P/S), or is my memory failing? Rhetorical question, I know it is! A good result, because otherwise the car would have been left in an airport carpark at 90?. I supplied the Gates cambelt kit - which had been riding in the boot for the last 18 months as a guarantee that terminal failure would occur. -
Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - 08 2.0 tracking problem 18" alloy wheel 24 Oct 2009 (Forum)
My car is a Titanium X estate with sport appearance pack. I have got bad tyre wear on the front o/s wheel. A tyre specialist garage checked the tracking, but informed me that they did not have the correct settings available for my particular model. They then said they should be the same as a previous model. -
Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 1998 1.8d Immobiliser problems 13 Feb 2009 (Forum)
i have an escort 55 on an 'S' reg. and recently i have begun to have problems with starting it. the lignition and lights all switch on, however the engine doesnt turn over. i have vague knowledge about the immobiliser and the PATS system with the LED but i was wondering if there was anyway i can bypass it at all? -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 54 2.0 TDCI. A Leak 11 Jun 2008 (Forum)
I'm assured the gearbox levels are good. The stain is not dark lubricating oil, we initially thought it might be the clutch cylinder/s but it was dry as the fluid is of a light complexion, does not smell of anything in particular. I know that the airconditioning emits watery waste but would this cause a stain. If it was water, I'd of thought it would evaporate. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Just bought a TDCi 4 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Just bought a Zetec-S (130bhp 2004) so probably going to be posting a few questions on here. First one is that every picture I've ever seen of the engine bay of a TDCi, the engine has a large plastic cowel/cover covering the entire engine. -
Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 1996 2.5 V6 - Heater cold at low revs 21 Feb 2008 (Forum)
than the vacuum assist on the flap controls? Anyone else resolved this, as it seems to have been a problem for other too! Thanks in advance! S -
Ford - '02 Mondeo Mk III (not MkII !!) dash illumination? 6 Sep 2007 (Forum)
However I have a feeling that it used to illuminate with the ignition and then dim when the lights are swithched on, perhaps I have a bulb out or perhaps it is working as it is supposed to and all is well? Thanks. s -
Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec keeps cutting out 31 May 2007 (Forum)
my S reg focus seems to be idling at low revs (about the 900 mark) I dont know if this is contributing to it cutting out. When i release the accelerator the revs drop and it has occasionally cut out. I thought this was something i was doing because i have only had the car a month but it has happened a few times now. -
Ford Ka Won't Unlock In Thru Boot Help! 9 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Hope someone can help. My girlfriend's 1997 Ka2's door locks will not open after she has locked it up, only way she can get in is thru the boot!! It seems to stem from the drivers side, she puts the key in but nothing, won't open although it WILL lock everthing up. -
Toyota Estima - Imported Estima vs 1.4 Sharan…or something else?!? 3 Mar 2024 (Forum)
I’m in the market for a spacious (and reliable) used 7 seater with a budget of £12,500 Must haves are: petrol, auto, heated front seats, raised seating position OR comfortable drive (due to my disability), reversing camera, room for 2 teenagers in all of the rear 5 seats (so no Qashqai+2 for ex.) but also not as big as a van styled motor such as the Alphard or Berlingo Would be nice: leather/half leather trim, tray tables to back of front seats, half decent mpg After much deliberation I’ve cut it down to an imported Estima vs 1.4 Sharan - around an 11 plate or newer, with less than 100k on the clock and good history (Verso is too small, XC90 worries me with repair bills, don’t fancy a Zafira, Galaxy, S Max, Grand Picasso, or Alhambra) Have I missed anything worth considering - such as an older X5? - and if not, which would be a better investment to try and get 6 or more years of well serviced motoring from?? -
Anyone bought a used tesla? 31 Dec 2023 (Forum)
I know there are more sensible options but I think the joy I'd get from the car is worth a bit of extra money and the risk of financial oblivion if the battery dies. My max budget would be £30k but I've seen older model 3's for less than 20. -
The effect on speed on economy 17 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Just did Manchester - London - Manchester today. In the S-Max TDCi auto with six people on board. Interesting at what speed the economy starts to suffer by the effects of aerodymanic drag. I have a rough rule of thumb; the range remaining should always increse for the first half of a tank, if I am driving steadily on the motorway and the previous few hundrd miles was mostly suburban driving. -

1997/R Fiesta 1.25 Zetec-s engine prob. 24 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Hello folks. My girlfriend owns a 1997/R Fiesta with the 1.25 Zetec-s engine. I have used the car a couple of times over the last few days and noticed a fairly serious problem with it which I need help with. The car only shows this problem when cold. When started and driven from cold there is an intermittent fault whereby the engine severly holds back. -

I just bought a 2015 Mustang V8. This car is bloody amazing. In nearly 30 years motoring I have never been in a car with performance (or grip) to touch...
