Nissan Juke - DVLA threatening court for their mistake in 2015 6 Mar 2017 (Forum)
I have received a letter from the DVLA today, ordinary post, not recorded or registered, asking for repayment of £241.66 (allegedly) paid to me in error in 2015. I have no recollection of this but I did change my car and my husbands car around then so may have had some car tax refunded but there was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing taxing the new cars and claiming back from old cars going on so I didn't take much notice to be honest. -
C-Max - 'Steering Assist Failure' glitch 30 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Had my first major fault in my C-Max today, and was wondering if anyone's encountered anything like it before. I'd stopped to visit a cash machine, got back in the car, spotted a bus approaching that was waiting to get past, so I decided to go straight away so I didn't keep it waiting. -

5 door hatchback under 10k 17 May 2018 (Forum)
The Jazz is by far the most spacious, practical and versatile small hatchback. Makes you wonder how Ford can still get away with fitting crappy rear seatbacks that just flop down onto the cushions. -
Any - when to 'top up' oil 15 Nov 2022 (Forum)
so rather than resurrrecting a long and out of date thread I thought it was worth re-visiting as 'expert' advice varies depending where you look. E.g. the AA advise adding if below halfway between max and min on the dipstick, Halfords if below minimum, and Ford at minimum or below. The general consensus seems to be the level is OK anywhere beteen the two marks - and that is what I have always thought; rarely adding any until it reaches the min mark. -

Most Pointless Car? 21 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Its made to look coupe like and sporty but in a 4x4 sort of way and the upshot is it does neither of those things well and costs four limbs to buy. The Ford Fusion? The disabled motability car favourite, its a jacked up Fiesta and yes the height i suppose is ideal for those with mobility issues but does it do anything the C-Max cant do? Thoughts? -
Would you buy a new car? 24 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Why buy new as you still get the remaining warranty! I have noted that prices have bottomed out. Last year, you could by the previous mode Ford Ka, brand new with tax for 4500 quid - now they are selling at that for a year old model. A family member bought a Saab, 57 plate sport/auto, 9k on the clock, convertable for 11k - 21k saving. Smaller automatic cars are retaining their price better as our daughter is looking for one as her first car, max spend 4 - 4:5k - about 2 years old & less than 15 on the clock - avy ideas? -

Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2002 2.0tdci - Fuel injectors 17 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I own a 2.0 tdci 130 Mondeo and have found that it is now producing lots of black smoke under acceleration, once i reach 70mph and from there on the car seems to hesitate and "two`s and fro`s" hope you understand what i mean. The car has an intercooler hissing under acceleration and i cannot hear the turbo (because of the cooler noise) is this normal? Is this the same for other TDCI owmers? -
Another what to buy 5 Dec 2018 (Forum)
I do find I am sitting quite low in the corsa, I have arthritis and I tend to 'roll' out of the car, I did have a look at the Fabia and found the driving position to be higher than the Corsa, Do any members of this forum have any good or bad experiences of either the C3 or the Fabia, or should I be looking at a small SUV, for example the Ingis or S-Cross from Suzuki? -
Audi A1 - Do I need new rear tyres? 18 May 2018 (Forum)
Hello all I hope you can help me! I have 4 x 215/45R16 90V Bridgestone Turanza T001's on my 2015 Audi A1, which has done just over 22,000 miles. The front tyres are approaching the legal minimum, so I am looking at getting these replaced within the next week or two. The rear tyres, on the other hand, have 5.5 mm of tread left, however, as you can see from the attached photos, ever since I have owned the car (bought used nearly 2 years ago), there have been cracks visible in the grooves. -
Most disappointing car. 25 Sep 2025 (Forum)
Was it the Nissan Bluebird ZX Turbo that was about as sporty as Nora Batty despite the bright red paint and spoiler kit? Or the horrible Mk V Ford Escort that everyone loved to hate? I think it has to be the Ford Capri. After listing after one as a new 17yr old driver I finally drove one in my 20’s, aaaand absolutely hated it. It was awful. -

Ford Galaxy - CV crunching on cornering 1 May 2012 (Forum)
MK 1 T reg. I'm getting a crunching or clicking with knocking on I think my right CV joint(s). I assume outer as that's dependent on steering. I' very surprised this has developed quickly over a few days of careful driving, now trying to coast around all corners! I'm intending to replace it, and from Heynes it appears straightforward, however can it suddenly fail catastrophically or do further damage?
