• Ford Focus Zetec - Transmission issue 1 Jul 2020 (Forum)
  So I’m having an issue with what I believe to be the transmission on my 2011 Ford Focus Zetec (auto). I understand there have been known issues with the transmission on these models and I had it changed when I bought the car in 2015. Basically when driving home this evening, I found on a couple of occasions the car really struggled to pull away, and at one point I thought it wasn’t going to make it.

  I have a ford 1992 Laser. I had this car serviced on Wednesday 13th August and the mechanic never mentioned anything was wrong with the car except needing new right hand front drive shaft. Well, yesterday i started it up (have driven it the previous days) and it was billowing grey/white smoke and it stinks!

• Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.6 High idle and creeping revs 19 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  Then the revs will drop down to idle of 1200rpm. This will happen at any speed provided the engine is below 2000 rpm. It?s a bit annoying when in first and I?m creeping along in traffic as the revs pick up, the car starts to accelerate under it?s own power, the revs then increase as the speed increases and so on. It?s not doing my fuel or brakes any good.

  Seemed fine driving home Friday evening but having taken it out since for a decent run I have noticed an odd sound coming from the O/S rear brakes. I'm fairly certain they're disc brakes on these though haven't checked to be honest! The sound couldn't quite be described as a grinding but it's definitely a friction-like sound. Imagine clawing your nails lightly across a formica surface...!

    I'm considering:  Honda Jazz / VW golf / citronella c4 cactus / Hyundai ix20 / Ford focus, fiesta, b-max / Peugeot 106 / Toyota yaris! Questions:  are the newer Toyota better than the model I had (what 'model' should I look for / avoid) I've heard the newer ford's have a "wet cambelt" that is very expensive to replace ...what should I look for / avoid.

  HOWEVER it would appear that my 9-10K miles a year is going to change drastically to 20-25k. Fuel consumption is the one downer on the Focus (max 38mpg) and I now wonder if I should chop it in quick for a diesel. Sods law I part ex'd a diesel Seat Toledo for the Focus-partly because I only done 8K miles last year in it so thought petrol would be okay.....

  Hello everyone, I have been asked by my boss at work if I could assist her in finding a forum that's good with cars, as she's got a few problems with her 2003 Ford Focus, so here I am! (As you lovely people are top-notch with your car knowledge) My boss has had the Focus garaged for quite a while now, as it''s suffering from a fault where the car thinks that it's overheating, and then goes into "Go-slow mode" (as she put it) and then won't go over 30 mph.

  Removing Door Hinges I?m trying to change the driver?s door on a J92 Ford Fiesta Mk3. I?ve stripped the door down and removed everything so that the door is only connected to the car by the two hinges. I?ve bought the correct hinge pin removal tool from Sykes Pickavant, it fits but I can?

  Hello, I have a 2007 fiesta zetec s 1.6 petrol. My gears feel notchy and stiff especially when the engine is cold. The gears feel stiff even with the engine off sometimes. If I hold the clutch down and put it into a gear it feels notchy but when I take it out of the gear and back into the gear again with the clutch still down it goes in a lot smoother.

  Relative has received a sizeable dent(s) in the near side rear door. What are the options? It looks too much to pull out / fill so is a replacement spare / scrap door easy to source? Is it an easy job to replace? (manual window but central locking) Do you have to find an exact match colourwise or can it just be resprayed with a can or two of matching paint.

  Hi My recently acquired S reg Fiesta 1.25 has an annoying rattle behind the dash on the near/passenger side. I thought it was the hard plastics around the bulk head under the bonnet causing it which I cushioned with some foam but it isn't??
