vw polo/ford focus/skoda fabia - decision time! Focus, Polo, Fabia 16 Nov 2012 (Forum)
OK, so i'm 21, I passed my test just over a month ago and I'm looking for a car. My price is max 2500 and it has to be diesel. I've narrowed it down to a 2004 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi, a 2002 Polo 1.4 TDI sport and a 2004 Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI. Which is best? I have a feeling the Focus will be more reliable and cheaper to fix but the insurance is better for the Polo and Fabia (300 more for the Focus though my thinking is that if someone were to go wrong on the ones that are cheaper to insure I would have that extra 300 available towards the cost of repair). -
Radiator problems on Ford Escort 28 Aug 2006 (Forum)
12 months ago, I changed the coolant in my ford escort. In about April, I realised that the coolant level was a bit low, so I topped up with a mixture of antifreeze and water. Since then, the coolant level slowly falls, ie I have to top it up every week or two. -
Car Tax Questions 19 Jan 2005 (Forum)
a) Why is the highest rate of tax for newer cars £160, yet for older cars, £165? This means the owner of a Feb 2001 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec pays MORE road tax than the owner of an April 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider. I defy anyone to tell me the Focus is more polluting than the Ferrari. b) Why is it fair for the owner of a Feb 2001 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec to have to pay £165 a year tax, yet the owner of a March 2001 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec - identical cars, probably built at the same time - has to pay £145? -

Ford Fiesta - Ford 'capless fuel' 20 Jul 2014 (Forum)
I've just taken delivery of a newish Ford, and was surprised by the lack of a petrol locking cap. The fuel flap can be opened without a key or inside cab release leaver, albeit there appears to be a strong spring door that will only allow the right fuel nozzle in. -

Primera 2.2DCi - dead turbo? £'s to fix? 22 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Finds oil where he shouldn't and tows me to the Nissan garage where I will check in tomorrow for analysis and repair! So big question I am scared of asking is how bad in terms of £'s could this be? New turbo fitted =£????. Also, the car is less than three years old and has been serviced by a main dealer according to the schedule. Although now out of warranty due to mileage (60k max) its still not three yrs old.
