What's the best big vehicle for a family of six?

Our 11 year old Renault Grand Scenic has many problems and I think we need to replace it. It also isn't really large enough for us (two adults and four kids with full booster seats). There doesn't appear an obvious vehicle but I don't feel able to make a balanced compromise decision. What are your thoughts and recommendations?

If you want another car then something like the Ford Galaxy might suit. It has seven seats as standard and is available with petrol or diesel power. However, you won’t get much boot space when all of the seats are in place: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/ford/galaxy-2015/

A van-based MPV will provide more space for luggage, but limit your choices to larger diesel-powered vehicles. I’d recommend:
