does the price look to be right or too much,    the guy said it would be about 1 hr to replace max but that it may need new camber bolts as they normally snap on removal, is this just the bolts that hold the arm in place?

  • Ford Focus Mk1 - Ford Focus Mk1 or Mk2, Zetec.. Or ST170 24 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Is it false economy if it needs constant repairs etc.,    I see no end of Mk1's on the road which is a good advert  to the quality, but my gut feeling is to hold on until I might be able to afford a Mk2, that said they still seem out of my budget. If a car this old is really not an issue and I check F/S/H service stamps etc, then would the ST170 be worth looking at as it seems to have everything- only thing that concerns me is the mpg which if I am on a tight budget it seems daft to buy something that is going to consume fuel like there's no tomorrow!
  • Reliability of Ford Powershift ‘boxes 29 Nov 2022 (Forum)
Except the car immediately in front didn’t move.   Turns out the Powershift gearbox on the Ford B-Max had overheated and was flashing up a warning that it needed to be left for five minutes to cool down!  The poor driver (with a young child) was distraught, as she was completely blocking the road.
  • 07 Ford Focus Sport 1.8 - Engine Management Warning 13 Nov 2010 (Forum)
The car handbook makes no mention of this particular warning light and a Ford 'expert' spoken to on the phone is perplexed. It seems that a 'secondary' management system is installed but what it is supposed to be doing no one seems to know. I'm sure someone out there must have had the same problem!
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 04 1.8 Slightly Poor Fuel Consumption 18 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I know there was a topic posted not long ago about this, but I'm just looking for tips on how I could improve the economy. Its a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol. I Have had the car 18 months, and used to get around 31-32 MPG on a day-to-day use, going up to around 38 MPG on a longer journey. This is included winter weather last year. Now I am getting a max of 27 MPG.
