    The new panel van will reach the UK in the spring and rival the  Volkswagen Crafter  and  Ford Transit . Mercedes-Benz hasn't provided any actual pictures of the 2018 Sprinter panel van but it has produced an artist’s sketch of the new van, which hints at a sleeker design with sweptback LED headlights and a clamshell bonnet design.

    Second lot behind the Pininfarina-bodied convertible was a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 190SL. Meanwhile, a one-owner 1985 Ford Granada sold for £3850. The meticulously maintained Ghia 2.8i was expected to make up to £6000 when it went across the block.

    His first race in the German Touring Car Championship was at Hockenheim in 1984. After moving from Ford to Mercedes-Benz, Asch was runner-up the in the DTM championship in 1988 and 1993. Asch also recorded success the German Porsche 944 Turbo Cup, where he won the title three years in a row from 1987 and 1989.

    Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) shows that 59,857 new vans and pick-ups were registered in September, while year-to-date registrations surpassed 290,000 for first time in September for almost a decade.   • Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota alliance produces trio of new vans 1 Dec 2015 (News)
    The new vehicles will be produced at Peugeot Citroen’s plant of Sevelnord, in Valenciennes, France and share the same platform and mechanical running gear; however, each will get its own styling to reflect each manufacturer's design language.  The new range of medium-sized vans will rival the Ford Transit Custom and Volkswagen Transporter and feature new interior with mobile office features, with improved connectivity for smartphones and laptops. In-van comfort and storage is also expected to be significantly improved too.

The Ford Escort MkIII , Vauxhall Astra MkII and Peugeot 205 all ended up in ragtop guise; but it was the Volkswagen Golf MkI that got there first, with the Karmann-converted Cabriolet being launched in 1980.

    And now he's been awarded the  Minerva Medal from the Chartered Society of Designers for outstanding contribution to automotive design Born in Dumfries, Scotland, Callum attended a course in industrial design at Glasgow School of Art, which was followed by a two-year course in Automobile Design at the Royal College of Art.  He spent the first 12 years of his career working in Ford Design studios, where he contributed to the creation of the Escort RS Cosworth and the Ghia Via Concept.
  • Honda Swindon plant now producing green hydrogen 31 Oct 2014 (News)
    The fuel is being used to power an on-site learning centre, along with some of the plant’s forklift trucks, plus a fleet of seven converted Ford Transit vans, operated by Swindon Council and Commercial Group. The fuel is also available to the public should owners of hydrogen-powered vehicles need a fill-up. The solar-powered hydrogen production facility has been developed in collaboration with BOC, Fuel Cell Systems, Briggs Equipment and received funding from the UK’s innovation industry.

    This year, more than 76 classic motoring clubs took part in the two-day event, showing a wide range of classics from Ford GT40s to Morgans, Corvettes and even caravans.     A 1960 Lincoln Continental, owned by the La Salle Collection, triumphed in Class 4: ‘Affairs of Status’, while Class 5: ‘Mid-engined masterpieces’ went to Stephen Keen’s 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400S.  Bill Shepherd’s 1966 Ford Mustang Mustero won Class 6: ‘Horses for Courses’ which celebrated American cars powered by small-block V8 engines, while victory in Class 7: ‘Best foot forward’, marking front-engined British sportscars of the 1990s, was won by Graham Abbott’s 1997 TVR Cerbera Speed 12.
  • Renault reveals new Trafic 18 Mar 2014 (News)
    As well as the standard panel van there will also be crew cab versions along with minibus and chassis-cab variants. Renault is hoping the new Trafic will be a strong rival the Ford Transit Custom. It will be officially launch in early April before going on sale here later in the year. Unlike the current generation model there will be no Nissan Primastar version – the next generation of Primastar will be unrelated to the Vauxhall/Renault platform.

  • Mazda 'to return' to British International Motor Show 17 Jun 2008 (News)
    Spectators can also see the latest Mazda concept car, the Furai concept, which is based on an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) sports racing car, with the racing engine powered by 100 per cent ethanol fuel. Over half a million visitors are expected at the Docklands-based Show. GM, Ford, Peugot Hyundai and Jaguar are amongst the other exhibitors. Earlier this year, the five-door Mazda2 was named 2008 World Car of the Year. The car also scored highly for its environmental performance.
