  People buying a car in the new year may want to consider the updated Ford Focus RS, after the manufacturer released prices for the model. Due to go on sale in showrooms across the country in March, the model will cost from £24,995. Ford pointed out the car is its fastest-ever European production vehicle and the first to feature the Rallye Sport badge since the original version of the model was launched seven years ago.

  People considering buying a car in the near future may welcome the news that Ford is to apply the cut in VAT to its full range immediately. Earlier this week, chancellor Alistair Darling revealed in his pre-Budget report that the government was reducing the tax from 17.5 per cent to 15 per cent.

  Once beloved of sales reps everywhere, 10.2% of 1990s Cavaliers have been scrapped. While the Saxo, which defined modified motoring for the Max Power generation saw 2505 destroyed - 24.1% of the total left. Not even the youngest cars from the ‘dot-com’ decade are safe. The Ford Focus changed car design forever when it was launched in 1998, but examples are vanishing at the rate of 25% a year – if the current rate of decline continues, there will be no 1990s Mk1 Focuses left in just four years.

  Restored Ford Prefect for sale at BCA 13 Oct 2015 (News)
  A restored 1960 Ford Prefect 107E is being offered for sale at BCA Blackbushe on Wednesday, 14 October. According to the catalogue, the cream-finished Ford is said retain nearly all its original features and is ready to show at classic car events up and down the country.  A spokesman said, 'Everything in the car is original, other than the carpets and leather upholstery, which were replaced to match the original red and grey factory specification in 1960.'

  Ford lifts lid on high-performance Focus 17 Dec 2007 (News)
  Automobile manufacturer Ford has begun work on a high-performance version of its popular Focus range. The RS model will be one of the most powerful cars in the range yet and will be available to consumers from 2009. Jost Capito, who is set to be made Vehicle Line Director for the firm's performance car division in 2008, is in charge of the team of specialists developing the vehicle.
