MG ZS - Am I just unlucky -is this warranty actually of us 3 Jun 2025 (Forum)
I have a 4 year old that has caused no problems at all until the weekend. The stop start activated at a set of lights and the car then would not restart. Being the weekend I had to have it recovered to home. It won’t start and in fact is really difficult to turn back off when trying to start it. So, two local dealers both agree it’s likely to be covered by the warranty. -

New Honda Civic - Hybrids failing to start in cold weather 21 Dec 2022 (Forum)
My colleagues new Civic which has only covered 300 miles since new failed to start and he has had to resort to his 06 Civic diesel while the main dealer sorts the problem out. They are claiming low mileage is the problem but the cold weather May having something to do with it. -
VW id3 22 May 2021 (Forum)
Not seen too many of these about until tonight while walking the dog. Now I think that most vw cars look well finished and quite classy, but these didn't. It was I guess, a base model in white with plastic wheel covers and happened to look cheap and nasty. Shortly after this I was passed by another higher spec version with alloy wheels, but this one was finished in what looked like grey primer with a black back panel, if anything it looked worse than the first one. -
Fiat 500 '14 DRL keeps blowing. 14 Jan 2019 (Forum)
I can barely get in to change the bulb, so checking wires isn't easy, but all I can see looks OK. Probably a short somewhere. Just to confirm - if a car has DRL's then they have to work for an MOT pass? Could I not just cover them up and say it doesn't have them? -
Ford Fiesta 1.4 2008 - Coolant leak Mk6 (late 08) Fiesta 20 Nov 2018 (Forum)
This did happen a little while ago and it was leaking by the thermostat which was fixed, had a look under the car and noticed some where the leaking coolant was settling, along the bottom of the cover for the cam belt. No sludge or anything like that in the oil and can't see any other leaks so any ideas where it is leaking out and how long it'll take to fix? -
Peugeot 207 - Peugeot 207 Power Steering Fault. 7 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Have read some other posts I've booked it in for diagnostics with Peugeot. Amazingly some people have had the costs covered by Peugeot even out of warranty due to it being a common problem. However, I doubt this is applicable 6 years down the line? Just trying to anticipate potential costs and whether I should start looking for a new car / fix and sell, or stick with it. -
How to drive safely in snow and ice 15 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Another winter driving tip: If you are using your windscreen wipers, when you come to the end of your journey remember to switch them off before you switch the ignition off. The wipers will go to their 'parked' position (front and rear wipers). When you re-start your car if its frosty or covered in snow the wipers won't be straining against being frozen to the glass or a heavy load of snow. This can cause damage to the wiper blades, wiper arms and the motor as well as the linkage levers. -
Hyundai i40 - Hyundai Stop Start System 9 Sep 2017 (Forum)
In June the auto stop, start ceased working, so when it was colllected by the main dealer for its 100k service at the end of July I mentioned this. Anyway when the car was returned to me later that day, I was advised that it probably needed a good run ! It still isn't working now. It lives on the motorway and covers about 3000 miles a month. Anyone know anything about the technology behind these systems or encountered the same problem Thanks. -
bmw m3 2008 - Buying from Dealer vs Private 18 Oct 2016 (Forum)
Most dealers are only offering a 3month warranty which hardly seems worth it. Even worse most of the warrantys have so many exemptions that im not surre id even be covered for the three months. Given all this it seems i might as well buy privately which will at least be cheaper or have i over looked something? I mean given the price of the car I'd prefer to have a warranty buy the ones being offered are virtyally worthless. -
Renault Kangoo - Wiring diagram 31 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Can anyone help with information as to where I will find a wiring diagram foor my 2005 1.9 Diesel 4x4 Kangoo Trekka? I bought the car last year just MOT.d, horn not working garage bust as lost MOT testing!! I have removed the horn and tested, cleaned connections, hot wire from battery and works, fuses OK if cover on fuse box is to be believed, shorted switch on column which delivers continuity through slip ring, all no good, dont know if there is a relay, if so can anyone tell me or any other fixes, eternally grateful, must be fixable, dont want to go down the auxiliary switch on dash route, thanks, Mike. -
Hyundai i20 5 dr - replacement parts under warrantee? 23 Mar 2016 (Forum)
The original warantee has expired and the garage is quoting in the region of £600 to replace the seals and the clutch plates if contaminated. Hyundai are saying the components that were replaced cease to be covered after the 5 year warantee! The car has only been driven by a pensioner and done less that 3000 miles since the repair. Surely the repair should have a warantee of it's own? What redress do I have with either the garage or Hyundai? -

Volkswagen Polo - Brake Discs replaced after 7000 miles ? 16 Apr 2014 (Forum)
My partner bought a 2013 Polo about 9 months ago, the mileage of the car is now 7,000 - Last week she noticed a juddering when braking, i presume this suggests the front brake discs - unfortunately the warranty seems to cover the first 6,000 miles or first 6 months. Would i be correct in assuming its the brake discs? -
Ford Fiesta 2012 - Rim protect tyres 18 Mar 2014 (Forum)
I want to buy some Goodyear efficient grip but on special they have them only with rim protect; my car doesn't have alloy wheels, can I use them on steel rims? and could it pose a problem with the factory wheel covers; which incidentally have never fitted all that well against the rim. I think I remember once reading negative comments about rim protect tyres? -
VW Sharan 1.9 tdi 2006 - HELP.. Engine Codes 28 May 2012 (Forum)
Ive noticed that AJM and AUY codes seem to have the same layout / kp / hp, But unsure if they will slot into my Automatic Sharan. My old engine has served me proud covering a whopping 184k. The car is still mint thoughout and would be a shame to let die. Please any advise would be great. -
2011 VW Polo 1.4 - Starting Fault 13 Mar 2012 (Forum)
The car has covered around 9000 miles from new when purchased in June of 2011. On two occasions when starting from cold the engine failed to start on the first turn of the key. Turning the key again the engine does not fire and simply churns.
