VW Passat 1.8 litre (saloon, sunroof) - Passat battery drain mystery 6 Sep 2010 (Forum)
I have read some great advice on this forum before about the common water-under-seat leak problems and possible battery drains, but after trying all the suggestions I still have a mystery drain on my battery. First visible problem was water welling up on the floor carpet in the rear (driver-side). Checked plenum area (as suggested in previous posts), but drain holes are fine; no evidence that the battery compartment has ever flooded. -
Ford Fiesta - Fiesta MK7 battery light issue 30 Sep 2020 (Forum)
My 2011 fiesta 1.25 has an annoying problem where the battery light keeps coming on, mostly on longer drives. it's been like this for a while but the car has always been fine apart from the light. While driving at the weekend the light came on again but this time more lights came on and the car started to drive weird (power steering and ABS stopped working) Stopped the car and turned it off, when trying to restart the battery was flat. -
1994 Opel Astra Convertible 1.6 8v - Battery Died. Wont Start after Jumping 3 Apr 2016 (Forum)
It started fine earlier and I wanted to clean it out as previous owner had a dog and it was full of hair. no offence to anyone just wanted to clean it lol. had the ignition on for a bit of radio whilst doing so and didn't think about the battery like a fool. so anyway, when I went to start it to move it back on my drive, it cranked over and slowly died. put some jump leads from my van to the astra ( the right way) and it just cranks of absolutely fine but will not fire up. has anyone any ideas what might need resetting or something that could of tripped when the battery died. it just doesn't want to fire up at all but will crank over fine or is there a set procedure to starting after battery has died or been replaced? -
Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 05 model - Engine revving after battery change 25 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Hi All, At the w/end I changed the battery on my Daughters 1.4 Corsa. Started it up and it ran fine. Today, she started it up and it was revving like mad. I checked everything and all was ok. I decided to revert back to the old battery to see if it made any difference - it didn't. -
Honda Civic 1.8 EX 2006 - Battery issues? 30 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I’m not sure if this is battery related (the indication cell, still shows green) – or whether an alternator or even alarm fault (running the battery down). Apologies if this all sounds a bit random but struggling to work this out & don’t have the ready cash to go straight to a main dealer. -
Suzuki Baleno (1995 - 2002 ) - 01 1.6 not working after service/new battery-Cam S 3 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I had a couple of days where it took a lot of willpower and persuasion to get it to start (it would turn over but not "catch"), until finally it wouldn't start at all. The battery was old so I had it serviced and bought a new battery which was fitted. The mechanic dropped it back at my house, and yet I haven't been able to start it since. I'm basically in the same position I was before the service albeit with a new battery. -

Isuzu - NQR lorry - Sparks from battery when starting 21 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Drove it last weekend, all fine as usual, went to it today and it wouldn't start, symptoms same as flat batteries (dash lights come on when turn key one click but when turn key to starter position lights go out and it's dead). I put a meter across the batteries individually and both read just over 12 volts, all anciliary electrics work (lights, etc). -
Vauxhall Omega (1994 - 2003) - 1999 - Key fob and battery problem 1 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I have two key fobs (say A & B) for remote central locking, out of which A doesn't switch the car on (immobaliser light stays on), but used to open the car door, and B used to both open the doors and worked ok on ignition. The battery were going weak for both key fobs and I just replaced one for key fob A. However operating the key fob A, nothing happens although red light on fob glows alright when I press the key. I want to know is there any other battery for the central locking which I need to replace If there is problem on the key fob A, and given I got only 1 other key (B) which allows me to drive the car, how risky it is to open the keyfob B and replace battery for this one too. -
Corolla battery/alternator ?? 3 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I am therefore suspecting the battery and or alternator. I don't have low charge lights on when I am driving. If I use a voltmeter to test the battery :- (A) Do I need to disconnect the leads from the terminals first (B) what voltage should Iexpect across the terminals (no load) To test the alternator (A) How do I get the test-leads onto the output, as there seems to be just a multiuplug connection - do I have to disconnect this or is there a terminal exposed somewhere I can get the probe/croc-clips of the voltmeter on to ? -
