  I'm looking at getting a new car and have narrowed it down to either an Audi A3 1.9 TDI (2009) or BMW 1 Series 118D (2010) with about 50,000 miles on a budget of around £9 to £10K.  I like the look of both and will be test driving them tomorrow but can anyone offer advice on the difference in maintenance costs and reliability.. are they much the same or do they differ a lot?

  Good evening all. I wondered if I could get some advice please on a new Audi purchase. The car has 20 miles on it and I have noticed what looks like brake disk scoring on both back wheels. I wanted to ask if this is normal or something I should contact the dealer about.   My Audi A6 has been scratched in 3 places on the back corner of my bumper by some kind soul (!).  The scratches have taken the paint off but are not that deep but more than a scuff. I'd be grateful if anyone can recommend a good, honest repairshop in South East London or nearby and roughly how much it may cost - ballpark (I appreciate it's hard to say without looking at it).

  After 70k miles the stop start is failing to restart the car. Happens about once a week and is sporadic. Audi agent has tried to fix without success as no failure code is logged so they don't know why. Last time took 3 goes to restart. Any help appreciated. Also how do I permanently turn it off? Agent claims this is not possible.

  Does the 0000 on the badge stand for the thousands it cost to repair them when out of warranty? I know of 3 people who all have audis under 2 years old and have all suffered breakdowns and replacement of major components, I thought they were meant to be reliable! I know the people in question have had their cars repaired under warranty but IF they were out of the warranty period the bills would be very large.

  Hi can anyone help me, the wipers on my Audi A3 (2004) work once, after switching on the ignition then won't work again.  When I listen to the engine there seems to be a buzz\beep noise coming from the engine that stops after about 20 seconds, then a click.
