Vectra C (Elite 16v Auto) 2003 - Date display gone back to 2002, wont reset. 6 Jun 2022 (Forum)
After battery replacement a year ago, (left battery-less for a day or two, I know that was a mistake), I had some minor electrical malfunctions that all self-corrected in use. Except this – the date display reset itself to September 2002, (maybe the original factory setting?). -
Seat Ibiza - cannot open boot 14 Feb 2021 (Forum)
I have a Seat Ibiza mk3, 2003 intermittently the boot does not open after operating key fob to open everything up I have been using the manual switch in the drivers door to lock doors on occasion (this means the car alarm not operative), this was to stop the alarm going off intermittently, now that seems ok, and save battery. Battery is fine, have been using car every day during this cold snap have been able to get into boot until today, again so happened around 10 days ago, then seemed to correct itself, now happened today, I had to drop rear seat down to get me shopping out of boot any ideas? -
Vauxhall corsa - vehicle not starting 23 Jul 2020 (Forum)
Hello I have a 2009 vauxhall corsa 1.3, I recently changed the battery as my other one was flat and when given a jump it wouldn't start. I then took my car for mot after replacing battery and it failed due to anti roll bar which they replaced and then i drove my car home fine. -
Corsa D petrol (2007) - Engine management light on 9 Jan 2020 (Forum)
Same mechanic replaced another sensor for £95. Car passed MOT. EML came on again 2 months later. Last November, I replaced the battery in both key fobs as they were the original batteries and the keys needed several presses to lock and unlock - EML has been off ever since!! A £3 fix! -

Skoda Octavia - Turbo or hybrid... which is the greater gamble? 15 Oct 2017 (Forum)
a) Skoda TSI... with a turbo that could spell trouble at some point (would have the remainder of a 3 year warranty) or b) Toyota hybrid... with battery, CVT and fancy hybrid system that could spell trouble at some point (would have the remainder of a 5 year warranty - extensible to 8 years on the battery if serviced by Toyota). And what about the much-lauded but apparently problematic DSG transmission option on the Skoda? -
Ford Focus radio code problem 23 Sep 2016 (Forum)
My Sister-in-Law's 4 year old Focus had to have a new battery. The radio needed re-coding but won't accept the code. She has had the car from new and the code was obviously supplied with the car. The battery has never been disconnected before its replacement nor any work done on the radio. -

Ford Mondeo - Why does CTEK charger increase voltage to 14.4v? 21 Aug 2015 (Forum)
Hi, I recently purchased a CTEK trickle charger to keep the battery in my Mondeo topped up, as I am often away for a few days at a time. As I understand it, the charger increases the voltage of the battery to 14.4v and then allows to voltage to drop to 12.95v before a "pulse" charge increases it 13.05v, followed by a drop to 12.95v and then another pulse, etc, etc. -

My car has been in a storage container for 12 months. I disconnected the battery when I left it so when i connect it back up I expect the battery will be flat. My friend can drive me to the container and i have jump leads in the car. I have read up on the correct sequence to connect the leads to the terminals. -
Ford focus 1.8 diesel - Can anyone give any advice? 16 Nov 2013 (Forum)
My wife was doing 30 miles/h in FORD focus 1.8 diesel(51 plate) when suddenly the oil and battery light came up,the car slowed down losing power. The steering became impossible to control so she pulled over and called RAC.The guy tried to jump start it but didn`t work, mentioning that not the battery is the problem.I had a look on the comments on internet and realized that could be so many different issues:cam belt, glow plugs or glow plug relay, fuel pump etc. Also I want to mention that when try to start it it does a clickin` noise(short),but is not the common starter motor noise...Thanx. -

Hyundai ix20 Style - Hyundai ix20 ISG not working 15 Dec 2012 (Forum)
They do not seem to have an answer but put it down to the fact that the "state of health" of the battery falls below 94% which is the requirement for the ISG to work. As I have only done 10,600 miles in 2 years they are putting the blame down to me regardless of the fact that even after they fully charged a new bigger battery it only worked twice. -

Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - alarm/immobiliser problem 6 Oct 2011 (Forum)
It was driven earlier in the day and was fine. How rude. I couldn't turn the alarm off with either keyfob. I had to disconnect the battery to silence it. Then, after reconnecting the battery, the immobiliser wouldn't deactivate, so now the car won't start... :-( I also noticed a clicking relay noise... a bit like the relay sound that you hear when the indicators are operating, but this was much faster... -
Renault Scenic - Starting problems with 02 renault scienic. 24 May 2011 (Forum)
When you turn the key all of the electrics turn on however nothing from under the bonnet as if the battery is dead or the starter motor is jammed. Battery is absolutely fine and jump starting does not make a blind bit of difference, had a new starter motor and fly cable and all the wire connections checked with no answer to what is wrong with it.. -
Morris Mini 1963 - Ignition Light not working 28 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I have changed my mini from a dynamo to an alternator, following the instructions carefully. I did this (partly) because when I connected the car up to a battery charger to test the lights etc (the car has been off the road for two years) smoke started coming from the dynamo and the ignition light glowed brightly, even though the ignition switch was 'off'. -
Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd - Jeep Won't start 27 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Struggles to unlock and switch off immobiliser and when turning the ignition, faint dash lights come on, it won't turn over and then dead - as iff I have a flat battery. Jumps starts with no problems from our other car. Have had the RAC out and they checked the battery and said it was 100%, was taking a charge fine. They also said that when the car was not running and locked, there was still a small charge being drawn - about 1.3 amps I think. -
Toyota Corolla d4d 2.0L 2003 - Struggling to cold start..Concern ?? 21 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Do you think this is a battery, glow plug or just a pure waxing problem ..once it has started, it starts ok a bit later when warmed up a bit.
