Fuel Consupmtion since the Fuel Blockade 7 Nov 2000 (Forum)
My question is has there been a general deterioration in fuel consumptions following the recent fuel blockade. I have a '94 Skoda Favorit GLXI which gives a regular 44 to 47mpg which I consider excellent. (I check at every fill) The fill on 26/9 gave 42mpg, 15/10 39mpg, & latest 20/10 39mpg.....a marked drop. With crude prices as they are & pressure to keep prices at the pump down...I pay 79.9 in Staffordshire....I believe petrol has been deliberatly weakened, a drop in octane rating. -

Fuel Shortage, what fuel shortage! 8 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I'm not one to start a filthy rumour, but after hearing on BBC Brekfast TV that there definitely was NOT a fuel shortage, how come the local Shell garage has been without diesel for 2 days at least, when they are usually on the ball. No, it's not a back-road operation, it's one of the biggest in Ipswich. To add to it, why are they queueing 7-8 cars at the remining petrol pumps. -
Diesel fuel water treatment? 31 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I drive 2 common rail diesels and wonder if I should keep up the practice of adding a "water treatment" at the end of each winter. I have noticed that the same company makes a dry fuel additive and a cleaner which claims to "demulsify" the fuel to allow the separator to work better. Which if any would work with this sort of engine or should I just do nothing and use only top grade fuel and empty the water trap on the filter every three months? -

vw golf mk5 1.9 tdi - Fuel pump replacement issue 12 Mar 2019 (Forum)
Hi all, new to this forum. Pulling my hair out with fuel pump issue, Fuel pump went couple of weeks ago and mechanic replaced it with new one. Then i started to notice a loud whining noise periodically mostly when driving around the town and stopping an starting and when idling and in low gears, also the fuel display that tells me how many miles is left in the tank was fluctuating quite a bit, which it didn't do before and i noticed slight loss of power sometimes or it was less responsive, and after some hard driving (when im delivering chinese at night) its worse and the smell of fuel comes into the cabin. -

Renault Clio Sport Tourer diesel (2010) - Small fuel leak after filling up 1 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I notice that after filling with fuel, there is a drip of fuel from under the bodywork behind the rear wheel arch. I have never spilled fuel on to the bodywork, but there may have been drips or froth which would have gone down the little drain hole which is located within the recess in which the fuel filler is located. -
Vauxhall Zafira - Zafira central locking/fuel gauge problem 16 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Curiously, the problem only happens when the car has at least half a tank of fuel and is turning right - the more fuel the car has the less vigorous the right turn has to be before the problem occurs! I'm thinking it must be due to some sort of cross-wiring issue as the other thing that happens is that if you start the car with the back doors open, the fuel guage tells you you have a full tank of fuel regardless of what you actually have at the time!! -
