  • Nissan Almera - Engine fails to start 11 May 2010 (Forum)
    Almera 1.6 SRi first fault in 13 years, Started the car this morning ran for 2-3 seconds now fails to start at all. There is a spark at the HT lead, also checked fuses to engine cont. and fuel etc.so I suspect the possibility of a fuel problem. I am led to believe there is a way of interegating the fault codes, if so can any one please advice on a way forward.
  • Alloy wheels...... hammered on weights 1 Apr 2009 (Forum)
    Why in the last couple of years have the lots of tyre fitting companies gone from using harmless stick on weights on our cherished alloy wheels to using 'beat it on with a hammer' weights as used on steel wheels? Look in any supermarket carpark, beautiful alloys. with ' pink fluffy dice great' lead weights designed for steel wheels ........ beat on to expensive alloy wheels! {GIM, you will probably know why I've edited your post}

  • Between opening windows and sunroof. 7 Jun 2008 (Forum)
    Nevertheless, the climate is now warm and therefore not using A/C means opening the car windows or the sunroof (I am not talking about the convertible). So here is the question: which leads to less fuel consumption between opening windows or sunroof? Shouting amended in subject line. I thought that this was a computer question for a minute

    This is no longer available from Fiat and most of the remaining " Pinks " have lost theirs over the years but there must be one somewhere on which at least one of the decals has survived. Any leads much appreciated. Thank you.
  • Stopping a squeak! 2 Jul 2007 (Forum)
    So, what remedy can I use to stop it. I'm sure there's a potion/concoction suitable that will not lead to be grease stains on the glass, nor melt the rubber. :)

  • 1 in 3 Brakes could fail 10 Nov 2006 (Forum)
    The attached is an intresting article on the quality of brakes and fluid recently inspected. www.carpages.co.uk/news/brakes-09-11-06.asp It does lead me to ask a question though. I did have a saab once where the dealer stated 'dirty brake fluid' on the service schedule sheet. The fluid was 12 months old. Does dirty brake fluid actually reduce it's effectiveness ?
  • Good Vauxhall Independent? Hounslow area 20 Oct 2006 (Forum)
    Hi all, I am after a good independant Vauxhall specialist in the Hounslow / Heathrow area for a friend's '98 Corsa (Engine management light). I think it's either cam/crank position sensor, MAF sensor or plugs/leads - car cuts out occasionaly, can be hesitant. Need someone to read the CEL codes (he is on a shoestring budget - too low for poke and hope - and main dealers!!) Thanks in advance!

    The problem is more pronounced at high speeds (50mph+). I have replaced the rotor arm, dist. cap, HT leads and spark plugs but the problem is still there. Has anyone else experienced this or able to suggest what else I might look at? Thanks, Paul.
  • Police told 3 Apr 2006 (Forum)
    Circulating just now are drafts of policies to reduce the number of people prosecuted currently "for a wide range of offences" that may in future be handled with a caution or other process. The document contains amongst others Road Traffic Offences - will this lead to better / safer roads or the road to ruin? Sorry but we have a policy on not allowing direct links to the Times Newspaper. Having read the link the summary given above sums up the point for discussion well.
