  • Toyota RAV4 - Toyota Rav 4 enging turns, not starting 18 Aug 2022 (Forum)
Did not use car for about a month. Battery went flat so took it out got it recharged. Reinstalled it and took out the spark plugs and cleaned them throughly. Engine now cranks over but car will not start. Car was working like a champ prior to battery going flat so I cannot believe it is a starter motor problem or other major part going down.

My car is old and I am on a budget, but I cannot afford the plugs/new tyres anymore. Is there something battery powered with an SD card that I can set that works on its own without draining my car battery? I only need one camera and I can't spend lots of money on a flashy system. Thanks.

  • Citroen Saxo 97 1.5 Diesel - Citroen Saxo 1.5 Diesel Glow plug relay buzzing 17 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Hi   My Saxo has recently developed a problem when trying to start, the glow plug relay makes a loud buzzing noise, and sometimes the speedometer goes nuts, and the engine won't turn over.  I was told by vehicle recovery that it was a problem with the battery not holding its charge, replaced the battery, worked for a couple of days then the same thing happened again.  I've replaced the relay, checked the connections, and still no difference.   Any ideas what's wrong with it and how to fix it, or has it just died?

  • 51 plate Peugeot 307 2.0l HDI - non standard radio installation 21 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I enquired about a after marked loom but I am told my radio should just plug straight in.  For now I have taken a wire from the central locking fuse ( just like from the battery) and the radio is permanently on so must be turned off to not drain the battery.

  • Astra 2000 1.4 petrol - Car wont bump start 20 Feb 2011 (Forum)
It was not driven by anyone else or lights/electrics left on etc. I've had a quick search and it appears it could be something to do with the battery not being connected properly. I dont have any further details as she called me on the phone. Would using jump leads help in this situation - ie to find out if it is the battery terminals/connections?

  • Focus bulb change - not as hard as I thought. 16 Feb 2009 (Forum)
The nearside dipped headlight bulb blew on the Focus yesterday. That's supposed to be the 'impossible' one because the battery is mounted behind it. Other forums talk of removing the lamp unit, which involves dropping the wheel arch liner because one of the fixing screws is hidden under it. I removed the battery cover which gives a bit more room and did the job in about 20 minutes.
  • Mercedes Benz C-Class W202 (1993 - 2000) - 99 1.8 Cooling Fan 14 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Hi Please can you advise. C Class estate, 1999. I have had a flat battery. RAC have advised that this is due to an intermittent fault with the cooling fan coming on after the engine has been switched off. Removal of the relevant fuse prevents this happening and RAC guy advised to take this out when parked to prevent battery running down again.
