Peugeot 406 hdi(90) running problems 27 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I have enjoyed months of happy motoring in my 93000 mile pug 406 diesel, that is, until recently.(2001 Y reg) It is running very rough, very noticeable from cold, and in general lacks power and runs very lumpy (almost like a misfire) My local peugeot dealer plugged it in and said there was nothing wrong with it, so i took it to one of these delphi diesel centres. -
Low End Torque - Petrol engines 7 Dec 2005 (Forum)
As someone who is disillusioned by the complications of the modern diesel engines with their extremely high pressure common rail fuel injection systems and ever higher turbo boost pressures, I intend to switch back to a normally aspirated petrol engine at my next car purchase. -

Octavia Estate - Stick with petrol/diesel or change to hybrid? 26 Oct 2018 (Forum)
At the moment there is only a matter of a few cents difference in petrol & diesel here in France whereas in Portugal petrol the difference is around 15 cents, and whilst France are going to stop the sale of new diesel cars by 2020 and then gradually phase out fuel driven cars over the next 20 odd years, there are no plans in Porugal to follow suit in the near future. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2003 2.0 Flashing glowplug light & engine turning 8 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Turbo seal leak needs repaired 3. Failed injector or loosing it's calibration and needs re-coded 4. Pressure sensor on fuel pump 5. Fuel filter and fuel gauge sender unit 6. EGR valve needs replacing 7. Fuel pipes being a bit knackered having holes in it and drew air into it 8. Fuel pump disintegrating or being blocked which in turn could be affecting the injectors Apparently there have been a number of Ford service bulletins about TDCI Mondeos cutting out. -

Hello I want to identify a fuse or relay (for convenience) that will result in immobilising possibly fuel pump or engine management unit. Got a tracker/immobiliser I want to wire in. I'm fine with electrics and petrol cars but cluelesswith this because it's diesel! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. -
KIA Sorento 2012 - 'Check Water Separator' 5 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Kia Sorento 2012 diesel, message flickering 'check water separator', which is the fuel filter I believe. Not a DIY job (for me), and car next service is April (still under warranty). Do I wait for warning light to stay on, leave it until service, assume its a sensor fault (flickering presently) or get filter drained by dealer straightaway? -

Ford C Max - considering a Ford C Max 3 Mar 2014 (Forum)
I viewed a C Max a while ago, I'm unsure of the exact specifications but it was a 2011, turbo diesel, 6 gears, good space in luggage/dog area :) pretty good on fuel and road tax was £30. Ice been trying to find a similar one on the internet but in black. The one I viewed had already been sold, it was priced at £10.600. -
How long car engines can run continuously? 2 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Not decided yet in which cars we'd travel but it will be interesting to know how long we can drive at a stretch [by rotating drivers of course]. Between petrol & diesel, which is more suitable for longer runs [not fuel wise]? -

Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - Sounds like pinking! 7 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Can a diesel engine have pre-ignition? On these cold mornings my engine makes a sound like an old petrol engine "pinking" when I accelerate. It lasts until the engine gets warm, maybe 3-4 miles. The car has done 50,000 trouble free miles, I hope there is no fuel pump problem as mentioned on this site. -
First MOT 4 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Can't believe how quickly it has come around :-( I was wondering if there's anything I could do to prepare it for the diesel emisions test. I was thinking perhaps of taking it for a hard drive the night before. Do you think changing the oil might help? What about a fuel additive? And do the garages still rev the living daylights out of the poor engine to test it? -

Mercedes recall? 1 Dec 2004 (Forum)
A friend of mine has an 04 plate one,and has rung Mercedes after hearing a story, but Mercedes are keeping their cards close to their chest, and he can't seem to get the required information. The car seems quite sluggish under acceleration, and he has tried various makes of diesel fuel to see if that could have been the problem, but to no avail. We need to know as a matter of urgency. Over the past 3 months or so my car\'s fuel consumption has increased markedly. Average consumption used to be in the high fifties. Now it\'s about 50 mpg. The car is a Peugeot diesel (mileage 204,000) I can\'t detect a leak & my driving pattern hasn\'t altered. -
