• Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi - Fault Code p0221 29 May 2015 (Forum)
  I have changed the switch on the clutch pedal, no better. when the car hiccups it does so for a few days then the Glow Plug light comes on and the car goes to idle with no revs. Turn off and start again and all ok. The fault code P0221 is showing on the ecu. If it was an old mini i would clean the carb, thats what it feels like.

  We are considering changing our Renault Clio 1.5dci 68hp  2007  for either of the above cars, mainly because the Renault engine is very demanding and expensive on maintenance, partly due to Renault's policy of making access to the ecu exclusive to Renault dealerships with dedicated equipment. By choosing either of the above, either petrol or diesel, am I going from frying pan to fire or are these makes more accessible to readily available OBD software?

  Hi ny name is Andreas and im from Sweden My English is not so Good but i give it a try I have acitroen jumpy 2001 2.0 hdi that refuse to start Ihave checked with lexia and have just one faultcode Preheat relay short circuit I have Changed loom in enginebay from a working car Have tried with hp pump from same car even injectors Even tried ecu and immoblizer/transponder Lexia says ihave 300 bar fuel pressure in rail on cranking Still no starting

  Hi I have a Vauxhall astra mk4 my automatic choke no longer comes on in a morning even when it's frozen outside it worked about 4week ago.everytime I start the car in a morning it goes to 1000 rpm and drops straight to 700 rpm in seconds it used to be 1200 for approximate 2 minutes then droped what feeds the ecu with the info for it to work correctly my coolant temp sensor seams to work fine the Gage goes up ect any info would be great

  Then when I try again , light comes on and the car will start .. its doing my head in . No fault report on scan, wireing looms have been checked and seem to be ok. If it is the ECU then why fault not recorded ???.

  the light display on my auto gearbox shift has stopped working,its the one next to the gear stick, that displays the gear the cars in ,reverse,drive ,park etc,also a warning light is displayed on the instrument panel,it says reduced gearbox function, the car still shows the gear its in on the instrument panel.it selects gear and drives fine ,has anyone else come across the same problem, could it be a simple bulb /wiring failure , or is it a fault in the ecu ,any help appreciated, regards tony

  I would therefore like to ask if i get a replacement engine what do i need to just plug and play. Do i need the ECU for the new engine or will mine be fine etc? Thanks in advance for any replies to this topic.

  Cold start/hot start/idling/high speed/low speed/any gear. It is a sensodrive and before purchase, 2 months, has had 2 actuators and ECU fitted. Since then it has jammed in 5th gear. Been back to main dealer for reprogramming. slt

  just hope some can help my mums car has developed a fault,where it starts and drives till a EP message is displayed and cuts out,the car has just oil and filter changes but the problem is still there,when the car cuts it wont even turn over even though the battery still has charge,the car has also been on a code reader with nothing displayed? is the ecu located under the bonnet? do they need draining? cheers

  I just bought a 406 rapier. After running for just a few minutes,ecu light comesw on,air pollution defective warning light comes on and car goes into limp home mode till engine cold again.A mate has a diagnostic thing which shows a p1352 code error,post heater failure or something,but my car is HDI not glow plug,also airbags failure lights come on at startup,but more bothered about driving round in limp home mode.Can u help?

  I have a customers galaxy in workshop and we tried to reset the service interval using snap on scanner version 7.4. It came up on the scanner that ecu was not in data base so reset was not possible.not too much of a problem for our customer.However when he left the oil light was flashing and none of the gauges worked.I re attached the scanner and could get all gauges working via the actuator test on the scanner.Have also tried disconnecting battery but no difference,also no fuses have blown and car drives as normal, any ideas?

  Dear all, I have been offered bio diesel (specifically manufactured) to european standard EN14214, for use in my alfa GT. The company that remapped the ECU specialize in racing diesel cars and they have said there should be no probs. What do people think about this considering its almost brand new, i intend to renew the fuel filter after using biodiesel for the first time.

  Does anyone know whether a re-conditioned fuel injection pump for a 1999 Astra TD (gm engine) will need re-programming once fitted? Vauxhall parts guy said he wasn't sure, but possibly due to the injection ecu built into the unit. I didnt think (hoping!) it would need as it has the older engine.   Reason I ask is, just had a "stutter" on my new Mondeo, as if I had dipped the clutch sharply then re-engaged it, while at medium rpm on a dual carriageway, the engine note was also different and a bit more dieselly / "boomier" for a short time afterwards. It was all fine and as normal on the journey home. I'm wondering if the ECU ordered a DPF regeneration, and the stutter / new exhaust note was due to the regen happening.

  Two things I've read recently have struck me. 1) Manufacturers compete with one another to program the ECU so that emissions in one car are slightly less than in a competitor's. 2) A Dodge, I think, with CVT is programmed in such a way as to give engine braking. If it is possible to re-program to reduce emissions what do you lose elsewhere?

  I have engine management light on took it to 1 garage and they detected 4th cylinder missfire. so changed coil pack, leads and plugs. still no joy missfire still there so taken it to another garage and they've detected 1st and 4 th missfire. they have done compression test passed and all plugs are sparking. i have no idea of the codes detected at the minute but second garage are thinking it could be the ecu. any ideas would be greatly appreciated many thanks

  Not taking into account the cost of the kit etc, Is there any reason it wouldn't work, I have been looking on the net at different kits and one company does a sequetial kit, with independant injectors and being run from the cars own ECU? etc etc Does anyone have any advice on which kit to go for if at all. • Contact cleaner. Should I use it yes or no ? 6 Dec 2007 (Forum)
  In the past I would pull off any push on connectors, give a squirt of contact cleaner and reconnect ( about every couple of years). I never touched the main ecu though. I would only do this with the ignition off. As electrics have progressed I am now no longer sure if this practise is safe/wise. What do you think ? Please ignore the car selected only I could not post till the boxes were filled in (the computer says no!).
