Obviously the Legacy is the best car ever made......but is it just my car or is there no courtesy light in the front? The one over the back seat is fine and the map reading lights in the front are fine but does the rest of the plastic that the map reading lights sit in illuminate and mine is just duff? -
Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - 2002 convertible hood problems 17 Aug 2023 (Forum)
Hand Brake was on every time we tried. When we got home I opened all the windows and tried again, it unlocked the windscreen section about six inches and then started bleeping again and got stuck! In the end I had to manually wind the roof back to closed with the allen key. Cars only done 16K. Any suggestions ? I am thinking along the lines of a sensor or bad connection? -

APCOA Parking Ticket 4 May 2012 (Forum)
Hi all, any advice would be welcome on this one. I returned to my car this afternoon to be greeted by the pleasant sight of a yellow sticker on the windscreen, courtesy of the Apcoa gorillas. I was parked in my works' car park, but in the wrong section. We have an 'indoors' and an 'outdoors' section, with our permanent work permits only valid outdoors. -
Volkswagen Golf IV (1998 - 2004) - 04 Feels like it's scraping the road when braking 7 Feb 2010 (Forum)
The reason I ask is I don't trust the garage 100% - they managed to crack the windscreen of my car during the service and only when I insisted that the crack wasn't there before did they go and ask the mechanics what had happened and it transpired that it probably happened when the car was coming down off the ramp.... they are paying for insurance excess, but their initial reluctance to take responsibility for this makes me cautious. -
vw 110tdi power loss 5 Apr 2005 (Forum)
I had a timing belt (50k) a little while ago, but I think it's unrelated as I was already experiencing this. On the flat the car seems ok, and it's really only when the car's under pressure under hard acceleration especially going up steepish hills. The car's fine until about 2500rpm, at which point the power just seems to die. -

Hyundai Santa Fe - Thermo-dynamics of diesel automatics 19 Nov 2013 (Forum)
When towing, the temperature goes up to 90 C at steady motorway speeds but on hill climbs or even accelerating in traffic the temperature reacts almost instantly so can be anywhere between 90-100 C, reaching as high as 110 C on odd occasions - but it drops almost as instantly when the throttle is eased. So is this heat gain from the engine doing a lot more work, as it obviously is, or is it from the transmission heat affecting the engine temperature via the coolant ? -
citroen c5 - anti theft wheel nuts damaged 6 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I have had the same trouble. Another way is to heat the bolt, clean it and use araldite or epoxy glue to stick the adaptor to the nut. Obviously remove all the other anti theft bolts first in case the adaptor is useless after this. Replace all with proper citroen blots afterwards; never tighten a bolt on a hub unless you have applied copper grease first.
