• MERCEDES BENZ E220 N REG - problem with car starting in direct sunlight 28 Jun 2010 (Forum)
    Can  anyone help, I have a mercedes benz e220 n reg, if I leave it in direct sunlight or heat it struggles to start but when it is not sunny or a hot day it starts straight away, could this be a faulty automatic choke, overnight it starts fine would be grateful of your help

  Just wondering if anyone has seen this before... Twice in the last year I've had front wheel punctures while using a local automatic car wash. Both times I found a screw (with washer) embedded perfectly in the tire. The washer presumably there to keep the screw pointing upright as I drove over it. Considering the close proximity of two tire fitters, it seems an easy way to generate customers!

  I have a-new-to-me automatic cabriolet, which judders at low speeds when turning right, sometimes it seems as if the car is not going to make the turn at all. Am i looking at a power steering problem? The reservoir is full, if so could it be the pump?

  The criteria I have been set that it must be an automatic with a reasonable amount of power, i.e not a 1.2litre auto clio like she drives at the moment. It also needs to be reasonably high for ease of access, but preferably not a 4x4. I'm thinking about a Mercedes Benz B Class which seems to tick all the right boxes, but any other suggestions would be welcome.

  I am looking for a used automatic car to replace my Rover 75 which caught fire at Xmas! I only have a £1700 budget & dont know if its better to go for an older car with low mileage or a newer with high mileage? Also does anyone knows of a medium size car that is well suited to a very petite lady!

  Unsure if a 56 plate (Nov 2006) Fiesta 1.6 Ghia automatic in flat red but wth extra sunroof (has climate - not sure if this was a cost option or standard over normal a/c) and 2000 miles (yes 2k) is a good deal at £7200? Comes with 6 months tax from non-franchised dealer.

  I need to change the car over the summer and a 2 litre automatic petrol Mondeo is in pole position. How critical was the facelift in Sept 2003? I know that these facelifts are often a chance to correct many early faults (rear suspension bushes?) but was this facelift of that type or just a bit more chrome and tart?

  I have a year 2000 Vectra automatic which I have started having a problem with. When I slow down and stop the car used to go straight into neutral but it has recently stopped doing this and remains in gear so I now have to keep my foot firmly on the brake to stop it from creeping forward.

  We have a K-reg 1.4 Clio RT automatic at work as a general runabout, with about 70k on the clock. Since we've had it, the heaters have never blown out warm air, only cold. The temperature gauge rises as it should when the engine warms up but no heat comes out the vents.

  i have read recent threads on this subject but.......im just wondering what may be the most obvious causes of this problem? I lock the doors via the key lock (remote doesnt work) they automatically pop up. I thought it may be the 'dodgey' door loom as ive had problems with electric windows. This is a bit arkward to say the least to sort out so is there any way around this? Thanks

  I have my first automatic car: Passat PD130 Highline tiptronic 2004. The box works ok whilst the car is moving. The problem comes when I start it in the morning when it has been parked overnight, handbrake on and the lever in "Park."

  My sisters pug 206 petrol automatic intermittently cuts out - usually at low speeds eg at roundabouts. It usually re starts ok but sometimes is difficult. It has been checked twice by the main dealers and no fault codes found. Is this a common problem on these cars and is there anybody in the bournemouth area who may be able to look into it a little deeper and sort it out for her please?

  Thinking about the new Octavia Estate. We really should have some sort of automatic, so bearing in mind that the 2.0TDI is a bit on the expensive side, would the best bet be the 1.6FSI Tiptronic or the 1.9TDI DSG? We've done the sums and it appears that it'll take quite a few years to recoup the difference as regards fuel consumption goes (15,000 miles p.a) Anyone have any experience of either of these engines, or the car?

  I've just purchased a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Mrk 3 (Automatic). I have just noticed today that there is an oil leak somewhere around the exhaust at the cylinder block. The temperature gauge also goes up quite quick. Has Anyone got any idea were it could be coming from?

  we have a 99 Scenic and are considering trading it in for a newer model. We would like an automatic, as the wife does a massive school run each day through London traffic. I quite fancy the 1.9 diesel Scenic, but of course, no auto option. The Cmax looks promising, I drove a TDi Focus & loved it.

  I've got an L reg 1994 Vauxhall Carlton Estate, 172k, mot & tax June, automatic, metallic grey, excellent condition, nice drive until recently when pressure probs started - engine damaged been advised new engine needed....How much do you think I can get for it? (if anything!)
• peugeot 405 td clutch adjuster 14 Jul 2004 (Forum)
  Hello, I have a peugeot 405 td with no adjustment left on the cable. It has no adjuster so assume it is the later model with the automatic adjuster. Does the lack of free play suggest a worn out clutch or a problem with the adjuster? Where is the adjuster? It sounds like a tricky job whatever is wrong with it. It has done about 190000 miles.
