  BAe were keen to dispose of Rover, as the company did not fit well with their core interests of Aerospace and defence. The high capital-consuming business of long-run, mass production of low-cost consumer products had little synergy with the low capital-consuming, build-to-order, niche production of high-value items such as Airbus wings or military jets. BAe were keen to sell, BMW wanted to buy.

  Strips of exquisitely thinly cut pastrami with lots of peppercorns and rye bread buttered with Dijon mustard from from Mrs Gliksten's deli, some rocket with marble tomatoes and what seems to be a yogurt dressing some sort, a crunchy Fuji apple from Japan for dessert, and -- bless her -- a still cold can of Rolling Rock. Meanwhile my godson returns with what looks like roadkill smothered in blood but is in fact a Jollibee Super Spaghetti Meatball Sensation with Extra Tomato Sauce, I am informed.

  Our designated ride leader will also say a small prayer for our safety before we head out. .Now I know. If only car drivers would be so organized! If he gets enough interest Jake will run an Advanced Course for Ladies later this year he said. That has a day on the Batangas Racing Circuit on rented big bikes. Wow, scary. Maybe later..... Any girls out there want to ride with your man, take such a course I recommend it!

  I spoke with her and she was distressed. She was alone, her debit card had been mysteriously stopped by her bank, she'd run out of cash, the Police wouldn't release the van to her and she'd been worried out of her mind about what had happened to me. Now two days without sleep, at my expense, I had to beg a ride to Scotland that day to rescue my distressed and emotional partner.
