  Hey all. I have a 1991 Toyota Liteace and I am struggling to find where the coolant temp sensor is. I have scoured half of the internet at this point and to no avail. I have checked the 2C workshop manual and it doesn't give a clear indication as to where it is. Only that is is somewhere on the engine :/ I would really appreciate if someone could help me out here.

  When stuck in traffic for a while, the engine temperature can quickly whizz around to the red. No coolant issues with the car, and the fan does kick in. It just doesn't seem to take much time for the engine to get too warm. I'm happy putting on the heating to cool the engine down again, but I understand that this cannot be a long term solution.

  I had the Aircon regassed in June 2016. The garage said that the coolant level was virtually zero after the previous regas in 2014.  The mechanic regassed and checked for leaks and said there were none. Today's temperature was in the mid seventies/ 25 centigrade.

  Had a problem with my 51 1.6 Astra overheating. There was no smoke from exhaust but bubbles in the coolant. Took it to my garage and they diagnosed a blown head gasket. Got that changes and now it is blowing grey smoke out and going through 1lt of oil every 20 or so miles. Garage trying to tell me the bottom end went when gasket blew but there was NO SMOKE before at all.

  18 month old punto is leaking rainwater into front passenger footwell - definitely rain, not coolant or spray on underside. Dealer cannot do anything for over a week and, as it's parked outside and it's raining hard, we have a problem. Because carpets are fitted it's not possible to trace the source from the inside.Have checked the trough in front of engine compartment bulkhead and cables through bulkhead and no apparent problem.

  I am sure we can sort the replacement belt but is shredding a sure sign of a pulley fault or oil /coolant leak or could it simply be worn, many thanks for any contributions, Brian.

  hi all ive got a renault clio 1.2 16valve. i noticed its losing water. i jacked the car up and in the middle of the car more closer to the front wheels,theres a plastic cover. i took the cover of and noticed that it is leaking water.but i couldnt determine were from as i was limited to space under the car. im just wondering if the anyone knows if there is any form of water(coolant) pipe around that area.thanks.

  But I thought I'd go the whole hog and tape over the entire grille and see how long it took for the coolant to completely heat soak. (I have a non-buffered temperature gauge so this is quite safe). Mixed brisk drive, some motorway, mainly A roads. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how many miles it took to overheat?

  Hi all My cooling fan been running now and then during the colder weather recently, usually when the air-con is on.Is this to keep the air-con 'bits' cool with it running so much ? The temp gauge sits plum in  the middle as it's always done. No loss of coolant - car runs great - mpg OK - compressor kicks in and out as it should (is that right?) as the RPM'S  rise and fall when I'm sat at lights etc -   Any advice would be welcome Mark 193

  It will fire/turn over  but will not pick up.  An orange light was showing which suggested  a coolant sensor  was causing the problem but the garage  have told me it has been tedted  but not replaces. Would appreciate  some advice, thanks

  On checking under the bonnet all the hoses were fine but the expansion tank was blowing bubble in through the bottom hose and pushing out the coolant. When I started the engine this stopped until I switched the engine back off.  The engine fan is working fine. Please advice

  one of the water hoses on bottom of radiator to bottom engine split i managed to make it home although it was trying to cut out all the time well now it wont turn over or will but sounds like no compression is this just as simple as to fix hose an refill coolant or have i cooked engine . are there sensors that wud stop car turning over  please help

  Could this be a valve cover gasket although I can see any oil leaks... Any ideas would be a great help. The engine is not over heating and I can't see any coolant leaks.

  Both my wife & I have automatic 2003/2004 Mercedes C & SL class respectively - having recently read about the problems of  leakage between the coolant and transmission fluid parts of Valeo radiators I am anxious to know if our radiators are made by Valeo. But when I look at the radiators I can see very little of them, because of a cover over the top and a big cooling fan at the back.

  hi,i gave my sister my 206 hdi for a few weeks.when i got it back and started it up the temp gauge was reading max after a few minutes at idle revs.she had burst the radiator and driving it with no water.got a new radiator and replaced the thermostat,now when i start it up its fine when idiling but after 5 minutes of driving it the coolant temp goes off the scale and the expansion tank is full of steam.does anyone know if its repairable or not?

  Hi , I'd really appreciate any advice or anyone elses experience on this. I 've been having to top up my coolant level every few days so I assume I have a leak somewhere. In the past on older cars I have used Radweld as a temporary measure. I was just wondering if anyone else has used this product on a 206 HDI and was it ok?

  I need to top up my coolant /antifreeze. I know you should not mix the pink and blue varieties, but what is in my system currently is just a rusty brown colour. (I'm assuming it was once pink?) Can I just add a 1litre top up, diluted as per instructions?...

  Blowing hard all the time and not responding to the OFF button either. Going into a specialist today but what might have gone wrong? Coolant has never been topped up- could that be the problem or might it be a typical Renault obscure electrical fault.

  Would a garage do a pressure test for this? There is no white crud on the oil filler or dispstick and I dont think its loosing coolant. What other things could it be? cheers
