Volkswagen Polo IV Blue GT - Scored Brake disc 24 Jan 2016 (Forum)
My Wife's 6 week old VW Blue GT - Sudden brake problems. The brakes feel " Grindy " and rough underfoot. The front offside disc is deeply scored while the front near side is flawless. Visit to the Dealer who informs her that it's "Likely to be a stone" The service manager didn't drive it to test the braking himself. -
Toyota Avensis (2003 - 2008) - 2007 1.8 Spongy brakes 10 Jan 2009 (Forum)
The dealer maintains that the brakes are fine but every other car I've driven had a firm pedal that responds with a light touch. If I bled the brakes/changed the fluid would this make a difference? Cheers -

Hi I have a vw golf 1.6SE made 2003. When I have been driving and braking for 10 minutes or more I get a hissing sound coming from the inside of the car around the brake pedal. Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - 1993 1.0 rear brake pressure. 5 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Is this something to do with the brake pressure compensator ie: 70% braking force to the front and 30% to the rear(or thereabouts). In layman terms what im asking is should the rear drums lock the wheels solid when carrying out the aforementioned test? -

LR S3 73 Brake Britpart Drums problems 18 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Could not get one of the drums on even having checked adjusters fully backed off. Eventually got it on but very tight. Bled brakes. Brakes pedal hard but after application travel kept changing, braking was terrible. Took off drums discovered only trailing and leading edges touching drum surface, loads of dust. Cleaned out re-fitted, brakes still varaible from very poor to non existent. -

Every once in a while the brake pedal in my Polo goes spongy. If I immediately release the pedal and reapply it the brakes work just fine. Front disks and pads are not worn, brake fluid level checked and is to correct level and no obvious signs of a leak. -

Ford Mondeo Mk II - Low brake pedal 7 Jul 2010 (Forum)
I changed the front brake pads, a job I have done successfully before. Now I find a very low brake pedal. It seems to recover on "pumping" but only temporarily. This was not present with the old pads. I have tried bleeding brakes but this makes no difference. -

I just got a tow bar fitted, 110 quid for my Ford Focus with single electrics. I'm looking in the local adtrader, some trailers are braked and some not. What kind of brakes are we talking about ? How do they work, and do they require maintenance ? Are they only required for heavy work ? Does single electrics support braked trailers ? -
Vectra brakes 1 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Hi I fitted new disc and pads to the front of our Vauxhall Vectra recently. The fitting was really easy, but now Im hearing some brake squeal when braking at low speeds around town. I tried some copper slip on the metal parts touching the caliper (being very careful not to foul the brake surfaces) but to no evail. The anti squeal shims are in place but seem not to be doing their job right.
