Ihave a volvo v70 2003 2.5 diesel and I gather it has a common rail diesel but what is a common rail? and for that matter a dms. -

Volvo S40 - HPI Check / National Mileage Register 9 May 2014 (Forum)
I have been to see a used Volvo S40 & have agreed a price after but am having second thoughts based on a £10 HPI Check done via mycarcheck.com that show the vehicle having many thousand more miles than the car's digital odometer states (81k+). -
Volvo V 60 - Flat Battery 29 May 2013 (Forum)
I did not lock the car....but did remove the key! TWO mornings later (i.e 36 hours) I came to start it but the battery was flat. Volvo Assistance attended, put a meter on the battery, 3 .8 volts i.e totally drained! The car started once the battery had been boosted with jump leads. There were no "messages" to indicate a fault. -

I've done lots of research but am unsure of which one to go with. My car is a volvo s70 1998 2.5 and basically I want cover that will get me back home if i break down and understand this is sold as recovery however what concerns me is having random 3rd party garages tinkering with my car. -

most of my driving is on a/b roads in the south east ( with the twice yearly drive to scotland ,( home ) i test drove the new volvo s60 d3 , loved the car an everything about it , but the boot is small ! it got me thinking of the old s60 2.4, an the d5 . would that be a good buy ( boot larger ,not much ) but as comfortable . -

The message Engine Service Required flashed up on the laser display board of my Volvo S60 D5 (52, 91,000 miles) on my way home last night. It was thoroughly warm and I'd just given it some revs (4,200 or so) in third on a downhill sliproad, partly to keep it breathing well, partly because I like the sound and the shove in the back. };---) I've googled around a bit, but other owners who've seen this - as in the one BR thread I found, linked below - report loss of power, limp-home mode or the engine cutting out. -

I am considering buying an old shape volvo V70 with a TDi engine - I understand it is an Audi 5 cylinder design. Can anyone give me their experiences with these cars, both good and bad ? I have noticed that most of these cars for sale have very high mileages ~100K+ Do these cars still have plenty of life left in them, or will they become complete money-pits.....? -

She would like the following specification with preferably the 1.9 diesel engine. 1) Air Conditioning 2) Cruise Control 3) Leather Upholstery 4) Heated Front Seats 5) CD Autochanger what models would we look for that offer this sort of luxury? -

My trusty (not rusty) volvo estate 2litre has been in my family for 8 of its 11 years, I've taken the old car from 28,000 miles to this week 100,000 with the original exhaust, alternator always yearly serviced and never spent more than £200 on a service) etc etc. -

I am having a problem with the Lambda light on my Volvo. I purchased the Volvo for £1200 from a small dealer in North London in February and it ran well until a parking company {name generalised - DD} at Gatwick returned it to me at 12.30am with the Lambda light on. -
