• Mondeo and jerky running 22 Dec 2002 (Forum)
  A pal of mine has a P reg 2 litre with a/c & the car has been suffering from jerky running/misfiring at about 2000 rpm, below or above that OK. He's paid for the diagnostic check at Ford's & no fault found. Changed the HT leads as well, plugs next. We have also been looking at some Mondeo specific forums & the number of people suffering same or similar problems is staggering.

  The fast Idle results were as follows: Fast Idle CO vol % should be between 0.00 and 0.30 actual reading was 9.98, Fast Idle HC vol ppm should be between 0 and 200 actual reading was 706, Lambda should be 1.030 and 0.970 actual reading was 0.712. The car is fine starting from cold and will run ok for as long as I want it to but if I stop the engine and go back to it in say half an hour it runs like a pig coughing and spluttering and it takes all my time to just keep it running. This lasts for about 5mins and then it seems to right itself.

  This is very much thinking out of the box as my normal option would be a tidy bangernomics small runabout for her short run to work and I use the mondeo for the longer run

  First all of i would like to declare that i run this business and i am not trying to promote I have run this particular service for quite some time but I have never actually got feed back from the "general public" on it and wonder what peoples views were?

  Hi I have just been comparing fuel costs using this...https://www.torquecars.com/tools/annual-fuel-cost-from-mpg.php. and am just weighing up if running our second more economical car is worth hanging on to.....Our people/stuff shifter averages 30mpg...our little run around is averaging 40 mpg..... we could of course try and find a more economical car to replace the two but then when you factor in costs is it really worth spending thousands to save few hundred £’s a year.......
• Ford mond - Head unit turning off by its self 22 Jun 2018 (Forum)
  After I had a new Aircon compressor fitted, my Head unit (Ford original) started turning its self off by its self, which kills the Aircon, I also get the Square box on the radio display telling me it will turn off in 60 minutes While the engine is running, only use to get this when the radio was turned on when parked and engine not running. After about half hour to an hour I can turn it back on.

  Hi, looking for recommendations of a 4x4 for me to use when in forests following and photographing motorsport. Have around £1500 just wanting the most economical cheap ish to run. Anything I should be aware of if running it as a second vehicle? Litkerally for one or 2 weekends a month, will probably sell it come winter. Thinking of going 3rd party as most of its use is on private or forrestry commission land anyway.

    I am considering buying a new car as I only do about 8 miles a day (to and from work with stop offs at nursery and childminders) I was considering buying a petrol Civic.  My thinking was that it would have cheaer running costs due to the shot journeys that i do.  Is it worth it? or is there another car that would be better in terms of cheaper running costs.  (I need a family sized car due to having to small children)

  Hi could anyone help with this issue i am having with a 2008 Vauxhall movano 2.5 diesel, the van starts up fine and after running for about 5-10 seconds the engine cuts out and will not start again for 5-10 minutes, then once it starts its can run all day and doesnt have a problem starting again until the following day, if this is a common problem or what the problem might be, I would be thankful  Cheers  James

  I was looking at one today that was 1 year old, and took it for a test drive. I noticed it was quite a smelly car outside with the engine running. It smelled strongly of diesel exhaust when I was swapping places with the salesman, and back at the garage when the engine was running. I have never owned a diesel car, so I was wondering if this is normal?

  Hi, I have a 2002 ford ka with the endura engine about 85k miles. a few days ago it went from running well to develop a heavy missfire, will not pull and the engine light has come on. with the engine running lumpy I can remove plug lead 2 and 3 and nothing changes, but when removing 1 or 4 the engine cuts out.

  Brian mc Dermot apparently sacked and then reinstated ! Leaving aside the foot ball ,what a way to run a large business ,corner shops must be run better .What do the directors of clubs like leeds ,Portsmouth etc get from their involvement .Do they draw a large salary for their investment . I'm not a rabid leeds fan ,but you have to feel for the long suffering fans at leeds .

  Wife has a 97 Astra, for the past couple of years its been cutting out when in heavy traffic when the temp gets 100 and wont restart for about 5 minutes then providing there are no more traffic delays it runs fine again. Just wondering its an ecu issue as the management light comes up before the engine cuts-out, have flushed the rad and car dos'nt run hot normally, have taken it to the local garage but their laptop dos'nt show any problems, any Ideas guys ?

  hi .its been running fine but yesterday after about 15 miles it started pulling  back and loosing power and white smoke from exhaust  ,it seems like its in limp mode  there are no lights on and no error codes  when its cold its fine till normal running temp or about 15 miles traveled t,any advice .thanks ray.

    Since i have had it i cannot get any decent mileage out of it. It is mainly used for town driving but even on long runs i can only get about 28mpg out of it at best. Putting so much fuel in it!!. im running it on normal 95RON unleaded. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks- Russell
