  done 11K in 5 months and today was reminded by the car to check the oil. Did so and found it was black and about on min. Added the free litre they gave me and it now reads max and still black. It it time to visit the main dealer. The sticker on the windscreen says longlife servicing.

  Would one of those sad 'wayne and sharon' style sun strips help in this case? To make things worse the dashboard in this car reflects in the windscreen which I find really annoying. Anyone do some sort of head up display that has radar and edge detection overlay so I can see what is going on out there?! Anyone make windscreens with a graduated tint so that it is stronger at the top than further down the screen?

  My heater does not seem to give out much heat, I have checked out the LED reading as the car does not have any temperature gauge fitted, by pressing the settings button waiting for the bleep then pressing the BC button and scrolling through until I come to an LED readout which gives a temperature reading, that I assume is the water temperature, the car never goes above 30 to 45 degrees, (this is only after a 35 min motorwary drive) if this is the water it seems low to me hence no great heat, the blower is working fine, so what could be the problem?

  Hi just found this site and seems like a great place to post my question. Great if anybody can help thanks.. My problems is with the heating/climate control. on pushing the control buttons to turn on the heater either manual or the auto button the aircon clutch kicks in and a few seconds later the cars main cooling fan starts up ( i been informed this is ment to happen if the aircon button is pressed) and cooles the car before it ever has a chance to warm up so drive around for miles with little or no real heat.

  My windscreen washer fluid reservoir is clogged! I've tried to take the windscreen wiper arm off to get at the reservoir but it is welded on, i've tried all manner of losening fluids but to no avail! Has anybody got any suggestions on how to remove the arm or are there any solutions i can put in the reservoir tank that will eat away at the gunk that has collected?

  It was a brilliant morning, the crystal-clear sun so low and reflecting so intensely off the road surface that north-south travel down the High St was difficult, to say the least. Lo and behold, what do I see approaching from the north? A 4x4 with two clear patches on the windscreen, each rising just about 9" from the base, each about 12" wide. The rest of the windscreen? You guessed it: completely opaque with frost. Lunacy? Criminality, more like. God preserve us.

  I have an intermittent fault on my 2004 zetec. It only seems to happen when it has rained or when I use my washers to clear windscreen. The door open light comes on and stays on even when all doors are shut, then I am unable to lock car. The central locking (not remote). I have to put key in door to lock, but as soon as I turn key to lock it instantly unlocks itself.

  (I believe it's an 8p1)   If the problem really is the "fan control module", and I believe it is. Is the "fan control module" also on the back of the biggest fan for my car's model being from 2004 or is it elsewhere?   I'm asking this because on the back of the biggest fan of my car there is no heat-sink like in some models, mine only has the motor housing and it has holes.
