We would be very grateful if you could point us at maybe two or three cars to look at.

SRV5 The final SRV car was based on the Austin/Morris 1300, perhaps an odd choice in view of how close the car was to the end of its production run at the time.

More at www.motorpoint.co.uk Honest John says, blanket consumer surveys don't really make sense on this topic. Electric cars are an excellent solution for short runs. Internal combustion engined vehiocles are far more efficient for long runs. Neither are good at both unless combined into a hybrid, such as the Toyota Prius, Honda Insight, Lexus LS450h, Lexus RX450h, Lexus LS600h, Mercedes S400h, Chevy Volt and Vauxhall Ampera.

  • Learners head away from cities in order to pass their driving tests 15 Jan 2020 (News)
While there may not be bicycle lanes, roundabouts and a myriad of other distractions you'd find in a bustling town, city-dwellers who aren't used to the twisting turns and blind corners of rural driving might struggle getting to grips with the different terrain. Hugh MacNeil, who runs the island's car hire business, said: "Drivers who aren't used to driving on the Isle of Barra struggle with forward planning on the single track road. People from here are used to watching further ahead for hazards."
  • Hidden Heroes: Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 Twin Spark 6 Dec 2019 (News)
.  They’ve also become rare due to two common problems - floor and sill corrosion, which also affects the 156, and cambelt failure on the 2.0 engine. It’s a known weak point and belt changes every 36,000 miles are essential to keep it running properly. Then there was the optional Selespeed semi-auto gearbox which has a habit of blowing up. Buy a manual, seriously. There’ll be more of them disappear before collectors catch on. Our advice is to beat the rush.

  • Hidden Heroes: Vauxhall Vectra Super Touring 30 Nov 2018 (News)
But the true hero of the Super Touring Vectra generation was the cheekily-named ST200, a car that aimed for the jugular of the Ford Mondeo of the same name, and was so called due to its limited production run and 200bhp power output.  The ST200 was a V6 only, with the 24v engine, 17-inch Speedline alloys that aped the look of the BTCC cars, AP racing callipers, bucket seats and Koni dampers, with the chassis developed by Motor Sport Developments (MSD), the driving force behind Vauxhall’s Touring Car outfit.  With these tweaks, not to mention the rather purposeful looks, the Vectra B was transformed from an also-ran to a true front runner, a proper performance saloon that, for those who were open-minded enough to ignore Clarkson, delivered great performance and superb handling.
