    Offered for public sale for the first time at Silverstone Auctions on 21 October, the German sports car is estimated to fetch £100,000 to £120,000. The original, duck-tailed, right-hand drive 2.7 Carrera MFI, one of 1011 examples made in 1974, was bought by David Pattison of PCT Porsche Specialists in 1982, having been originally supplied to the UK through Malaya garage in Sussex in January 1974.

    The camper, which has been restored, is part of the Classic Car Auctions sale in Warwickshire on 10 June. The right hand drive, manual example is believed to be one of just a handful on UK roads and looks like it has just rolled off the line at the German factory. Originally dispatched to South Africa, the camper spent the first four decades of its life in warmer climes before being imported into the UK.
  • One-owner low-mileage Porsche 911 Speedster for sale 20 Apr 2017 (News)
    A factory-built right-hand drive Porsche 911 Speedster is going under the hammer. The car, which is one of 139 made, is part of Silverstone Auctions’ sale on 13 May. The 911 Speedster was first produced in 1989 by Porsche to celebrate the timeless design of its original 356 Speedster from the late 1950s.

    The car of the day was superb 1994 Jaguar XJ220, which raised a fitting £220,000. The right-hand drive supercar was formerly owned by the Brunei Royal Family who placed the factory order in 1991. The car has covered just 6000 miles. As a result, the 530bhp Jaguar, capable of 217mph, was subject to frantic bids as potential suitors fought it out for the XJ220’s ownership.

Supplied new by Maranello Concessionaires in London to a customer in Glasgow in February 1969, Lord Charles Brocket acquired the car in 1979 and subsequently treated it to an extensive restoration, carried out by specialists Jim Bosito, Alfetta Racing, Terry Hoyle and Mike Presgrave of Moto-trim.

The cars are taking part in one of the Government’s Ultra Low Carbon Vehicle Demonstrator projects, run by the Technology Strategy Board.
