Nissan Micra C+C - Car roll on slope when handbrake on 13 May 2010 (Forum)
Hi Car failed NCT on back brakes. Replaced brake cable on drivers side as was not working. Replaced both wheel cylinders as both were leaking also replaced brake shoes on both sides as drivers side needed replacing. Bleeded brakes and brakes seem okay when using brake pedal but car rolls back on slopes when hand brake is on. -
Nissan Primera (1990 - 1996) - 1994 - rear brake noise 31 Jan 2008 (Forum)
From the past 2/3 days, I noticed that it makes an annoying noise (Like a wind before a storm) right at the end of the braking zone, whenever I brake. I can feel that the noise is clearly coming from the rear tyres/brakes. Recently we have changed the brake pipes and am not sure if that had any impact on this. This sound comes up only when I brake to stop the car in traffic, otherwise its quiet and perfect on motorways etc. -

on appearance at the local garage we were advised the brake servo needed replacing. Q. does it sound likely that this problem is being caused by a faulty brake servo. as they turne out to cost over £230. -
brake squeak 27 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I recently had new rear brake pads on my clk230 and from the start they have made a noise on braking. I have now travelled about 800 miles and the brakes still make a loud squeak, I was told by the MB garage that I should allow 1000 miles for them to bed in and then was told that I was using the brakes too gently! -
Air in brakes. 8 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Just looking at a ZX with "pedal to to the floor syndrome", as bad as I've ever known apart from moving the Land Rover last week forgetting it had no brake shoes or wheel cylinders fitted....we do get so used to a brake pedal with some action under it. Anyway this is a well maintained car with good brake linings/drums/discs. Calipers fine, as are rear brake cylinders. -

Brake Fluid Rising & Pedal Sinking 8 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Not sure if its related but the brake pedal slowly sinks to the floor if I push it down after braking to a stop (eg at traffic lights). Last year Vauxhall 1)Bled & exchanged the brake fluid several times 2) changed the master cylinder 3) changed the servo 4) changed front brake pads - all under warranty. -
2004 Polo 1.4 brake deglazing ? 19 Feb 2006 (Forum)
The frequent soft braking style will be used by anyone driving in London. Because the brakes don't come under the warranty I have to pay for deglazing or try hosing the brakes down along with a series of hard braking manouevres, neither of which option will permanently cure the problem. -

brakes sticking - Peugeot 205 11 May 2006 (Forum)
I am thinking of buying a 205 diesel. The owners say the only problem with the car is that occasionally the brakes stick on when braking. (and to solve the problem they just brake again) Is this a problem which can be easily rectified? or is it an expensive fix. The car is good value N Reg, 1996, 45000 miles FSH, 5-Door for just £900 Thanks Phil
